Hello and welcome to The Daily Insight.
My name is Lou Redmond and today's practice is on making better decisions.
It's difficult for us to make decisions and we often shy away because it takes too much effort or we're scared of getting it wrong.
We have to grasp that a wrong decision is better than no decision because with a wrong decision we gain feedback and we learn.
The most successful people are the ones that learn to make a decision in the face of ambiguity.
And if you're walking a spiritual path it can seem like ambiguity is all there is.
A decision is how you say yes or no to the universe and move your life forward.
So how do we practice making better decisions?
We tune in to the expansion or contraction in our body.
What choice makes us feel light?
What choice makes us feel heavy?
We choose what feels expansive and lighter.
Let's explore that right now.
So if the eyes aren't closed bring them to close,
Bring the body light,
Lengthen and soften where you need to soften.
Let's start to just attune with our breath,
Feeling the breath in and out through the chest or in and out through the abdomen.
We're really learning and working on beginning to listen to our bodies.
Take a moment here and I'd like you in this same cadence of your breathing,
Same feeling and attuning into your body to ask yourself what is a decision that you can use some clarity on?
Maybe it's a decision of a job to take or leave,
Of how to parent.
Or it may just be clarity on what book you should read next.
See if you can bring whatever comes to mind.
Maybe if you can't find something specific,
Just asking where do I need help making decisions in general?
If you have something specific,
Maybe asking both sides of the question.
Should I leave the job?
Should I not leave the job?
Should I be with this person?
Should I not be with this person?
Notice how each one of those feels in your body.
Notice if there's an expansion or a lightness or there's a change.
Remember you don't have to have an answer.
We're just tuning in.
We're going to practice this little affirmation to connect with this.
You're welcome to say it to yourself or out loud.
My power is in deciding.
It's okay to get it wrong.
I have everything I need within me to learn and grow.
I am my greatest teacher.
Just take a breath here and God or the universe or higher power will only meet you halfway.
It's our power to decide that brings about unseen help and moves our life towards the direction of our highest self.
I'd like you to visualize your ideal situation.
Bring your energy into your heart.
Imagine yourself making a decision.
Imagine it going well and then let's just practice letting it go.
Letting go the need for it to go how you think it is because sometimes not getting what we think we want turns out to be in hindsight one of the best things that we've ever gotten.
I want the solicitor to come back and I thank you for practicing with me.
Namaste.
