Hello and welcome.
My name is Lou Redmond,
And if you're listening to this,
You might be in a challenging financial place right now.
What I want you to know is that your circumstance doesn't define you.
I want to offer some things today that can be helpful and a practice that will ease your financial worries.
The key that I want you to hold is that your resources may be low,
But you are resourceful.
I'll say that again.
Your resources may be low,
But you are resourceful.
And when I say resources,
Often that's external.
Money is external.
But who we are at our core is innately resourceful.
And if we can ease the triggered parts that show up when we're struggling financially,
Then we can connect with the wellspring of resourcefulness that can help us get through anything.
And so this meditation is about helping you be with that activated part,
Thank it for its protection,
And drop into your deeper,
Innate resourcefulness where you can get answers and your next steps.
So go ahead and close your eyes.
Relax your shoulders,
Come into a meditative posture.
Take one breath into your belly,
Fill up your ribs,
Hold the breath at the top,
And then a long,
Slow breath out.
And then you're welcome to do one more of those,
Or just let your breath be natural.
We are going to begin by creating a separation between who you are as a whole,
Complete being,
And the circumstance you are in.
Your inherent value is not dependent on your circumstance.
You are so much more than what you're going through.
And so to root into that,
I invite you to drop into your body and to repeat silently or out loud,
I am more than my circumstance.
I am more than my circumstance.
I am more than my circumstance.
Notice how that lands.
As we start to drop into your deeper source of resourcefulness,
Let's bring to light the part of you that feels it's financially struggling.
And I use that language very intentionally,
That who you are is innately whole.
And that when things happen on the outside,
Parts of us get triggered.
And so can you connect and just maybe notice what the part feels?
Maybe you say or put language to a part of me feels fear,
A part of me feels lack,
A part of me feels down.
So whatever is getting activated in your situation.
So see if you can just use that language to create some separation from it.
And as you do this,
Imagine that part moving outside of your body,
Like the part that is fearful about money,
Part that is challenged.
And see if you can just be with that part.
Just breathe and be with it.
And it's likely that this part is getting activated because it wants to protect you.
It wants you to be secure.
It doesn't want you to lose your home,
Your job.
It wants you to put food on the table.
It wants you to be okay.
And so as you connect with yourself,
See if that's true.
And if it doesn't feel true that this part is trying to protect you,
Don't force it.
If it does feel true,
Simply thank this part for trying to keep you safe.
Take a few breaths and shower it with gratitude.
Thank you for keeping me safe.
Thank you for wanting to protect me.
And let it open your heart as you do this.
Notice what that does as you acknowledge it,
As you thank it,
As you let it be there.
What opens up in you?
Maybe you're starting to connect with more spaciousness.
Maybe you're starting to feel some of those resources internally,
And maybe not.
And so to just root into this,
If it resonates for you,
I invite you to repeat,
I am resourceful.
I am resourceful.
I am resourceful.
And as you keep rooting into this,
I also invite you to take a few deep breaths into your belly and heart,
Sounding something like this.
Just a few deeper,
Stronger breaths.
Breathing through,
Clearing out anything that's stuck as you continue to open to the resources within.
A few more,
And then let the breath go.
And just notice from this space,
What wisdom do you have access to?
There is more to every situation than meets the eye.
And so,
Do any ideas come,
Any wisdom,
Any insight?
And if not,
That's okay.
Maybe the work is just resting in this spaciousness as you feel the separation between the triggered part as you acknowledge it,
And work to come more into your own resourcefulness.
And then let's take one last full breath together.
Letting it go.
When you're ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes.
So your work is to notice when that fearful,
Constricted part gets activated around money,
And see if you can see it as a part.
And when it shows up,
See if you can thank it for trying to protect you.
And notice what that's able to create,
The separation,
How that's able to just bring more awareness into your life.
