This meditation will be helping you connect with your purpose. Our purpose with Mindfulness Based Achievement is to inspire and empower millions of people by teaching them how to gain clarity, let go of expectations, and get more of what they want in life with greater ease. It’s funny though, when you put your purpose out into the world you’re never sure exactly how it will be fulfilled. We’ve definitely seen twists and turns from what we expected. Teaching our MBA program at companies like Google, Cisco, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Airbnb and Goldman Sachs was AMAZING and it felt good to fulfill that part of our 5 year vision, but it was totally unexpected and delightful to see that our FREE MBA Meditation Challenge was being used by a non-profit to support women with cancer and by a third grade teacher to help calm and center students before class. Sometimes what’s in store is beyond your wildest dreams, and we hope that’s true for you too!

Transcript

Begin by sitting on the floor or in a chair and get comfortable.

We'll begin by just tuning into the breath and the body as a whole and dropping into silence.

Giving it our full care and attention moment by moment,

Just feeling the whole body sitting here breathing,

Your chest rising and falling,

Dropping into the breath with the entirety of your attention,

Riding the waves of the breath.

When you're ready,

Imagine or visualize a well and then imagine sitting by this well and peering into it.

Then grab a pebble from the ground beside you and drop the pebble into the well.

Let the pebble take the form of a question.

If anything were possible,

What would you like to see in your life?

When you're ready,

Letting that pebble drop into the well deeper and deeper and just listen.

Listen as it descends,

Listen for the splash of a response.

If anything were possible,

What would you like to see in your life?

Whatever response you hear in the form of a splash,

Just listen and just stay with the pebble following it down beneath the surface.

Listening and attending,

Following the pebble down,

Down into the well until perhaps it comes to a rest at the bottom.

Just listening.

If anything were possible,

What would you like to see in your life?

Beneath the surface,

Responses,

Impulses or expectations,

Is there anything deeper?

Just listening,

Just inquiring in silence and stillness,

In openness,

Staying with the pebble,

Breathing with the pebble.

If anything were possible,

What would you like to see in your life?

See yourself in the future having this in your life.

Now grab a second pebble from the ground beside you and drop it into the well.

Let the pebble take the form of a question,

What do you want to offer to the world?

What do you want to offer to the world?

When you are ready,

Letting the pebble drop into the well and listen.

Listen as it descends,

Listening for a splash of a response.

What do you want to offer to this world?

Following the pebble down beneath the surface,

Listening and attending,

Following the pebble down,

Into the well until perhaps it comes to a rest at the bottom.

Just listening.

What do you want to offer to the world?

Now grab a third pebble from the ground and drop it into the well.

Let the pebble take the form of a question,

What are you willing to let go of?

Letting the pebble drop deeper into the well.

Just listen.

Listen as it descends,

Listening for a splash of a response.

Follow the pebble below the surface,

Just listening.

And when you are ready,

Draw in a slow deep intentional breath,

Hold it for a moment,

And then just let it go and relax as you allow your eyes to gently open.

This was helpful. What I want to let go of is the fear of being alone, and the fear of doing things alone since I was recently widowed. I want to get on airplanes and travel to places in the world. I’ve always wanted to see. And if it means doing that alone, I still want to do it. Thank you for helping me see this .
