Hello.
Today's meditation is all about giving yourself permission.
So often in life we're doing everything for those around us.
We're constantly busy working,
Showing up for our loved ones,
Our friends,
Our colleagues.
We move through our day as a form of duty or just to make sure that we're getting it all done.
But what happens when you slow down and you check in with yourself to uncover what exactly it is that you need so you can thrive?
That's what today is all about.
This is a meditation for you to give yourself permission to just be whatever it is that you need to be.
So find yourself in a comfortable position wherever that may be for you.
You can sit down,
You can lay down.
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes.
And just begin by settling into your space and noticing the room around you.
The cushion that you're sitting on or the couch or the floor,
Wherever you may be,
Notice where your body hits the ground,
What connects to it.
Begin to soften,
Just dropping your shoulders here.
Allowing yourself to just be exactly how you need to in this moment.
Perhaps you've had a busy day,
A busy week,
Or you're just starting out the week,
But this is your moment to decide how you want to move forward.
And it all starts with just a breath.
So take a nice long,
Slow inhale in through the nose.
And slowly let that go.
Let's do that again.
Nice,
Long,
Slow inhale in through the nose.
And open mouth,
Just sigh it out,
Letting it fall out.
And now just follow your breath here.
Just notice your breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
Connecting just to the breath.
And for this one moment,
Just give yourself permission to just breathe.
Now take a moment here as you breathe in and out to think about how you've been living your life.
Without judgment,
Just notice as it flows.
If you've ever felt busy,
Overwhelming,
Maybe lackluster,
Just notice how you've been living and how it feels to you.
Observing your life just as you breathe.
How much of your life is given to others?
And how much of your life is actually yours?
Now,
What if you gave yourself permission to show up for yourself in a way that felt good?
What would that look like?
What would it look like to give yourself permission to wake up tomorrow and live in a way that just felt good to you?
We have responsibility for that.
But you can still live in a way that feels good.
What does that feel like when you give yourself permission to be authentically you and to live in a way that feels good?
Not what everybody else needs from you or expects from you,
But how you want to be.
What does that look like?
To choose yourself isn't always easy.
Sometimes the easier route is to act in service of others or to keep pushing forward for all of those around you.
But when we live in a state of showing up for ourself,
When we finally give ourself that permission to live in a way that feels good,
Then everything else becomes lighter.
Becomes easier.
So really see yourself living in that way unapologetically.
Now you can silently repeat after me,
Or you can just let these words settle in for you.
Embody them,
Feel them,
Allow them to be true.
Allow them to influence how you show up for yourself each day.
Continuing to breathe in and out here,
Really feeling your breath.
Connecting to your heart.
Lighting up all that is inside of you.
I give myself permission to feel exactly how I need to.
I give myself permission to say no.
I give myself permission to say yes.
I give myself permission to rest.
I give myself permission to release guilt.
I give myself permission to live.
I give myself permission to find joy in the simple moments in life.
I give myself permission to slow down and look around and notice,
Simply notice what's around me.
I give myself permission to be quiet.
I give myself permission to be loud.
I give myself permission to be authentically me.
I give myself permission to show up exactly how I need to.
And now just take a moment to silently repeat to yourself,
I give myself permission,
And finish that sentence however you need to,
In whatever ways you need,
I give myself permission.
Now take a nice long,
Slow inhale in through the nose,
And let that go.
And breathe however it feels good to you,
Remembering that you can give yourself permission to feel whatever you need to feel right now,
As you slowly bring yourself back,
Wiggling your fingers,
Wiggling your toes,
Moving in a way that feels good to you.
And as you move through your day,
Remember that you can give yourself permission to choose whichever direction you need to go.
And to feel in your body what the best move is that's just for you.
Give yourself permission to open up to all the possibilities that await you.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes,
And have a beautiful day.
