Sometimes our days can feel like there's a hazy fog around us.
It's thick and dense and we can't always see through it.
But once that fog clears,
There's so much beauty behind it.
And I like to think of fog as a beautiful way to remind us to pause instead of seeing it as something scary.
It's a way that we can slow down and remind ourselves that when we get quiet and when we tap into our breath,
We can get clarity.
And once that fog lifts,
We can see everything we need and want and feel really connected within.
And that's what we're going to do today in this meditation.
So find yourself in a comfortable position,
Get settled in,
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes.
We're going to begin by just finding our breath.
Breathing in here and following the breath in through the nose and into the belly.
And then following it back out.
We're connecting with our breath here.
Perhaps this is the first time in a long time you've been able to slow down enough to even notice your breath,
But that is where we are.
Slowing it down intentionally.
Now to really connect with our breath and let go of what came before and guide ourselves in this moment.
Let's really slow down together.
So expel all of the air out of your nose.
Let's really slow down together.
So expel all of the air out of your nose and breathe in for 1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Hold.
And release for 1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Breathe in again.
1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Hold.
And release.
1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Now do that on your own two more times.
Completing that cycle.
Just breathe here.
Connecting with your breath.
That rise and fall of your belly as the anchor.
When your mind wanders,
That's okay.
Just bring it back to the rise and fall of your belly.
Just bring it back to the rise and fall of your belly.
Now with your focus on your breath,
Visualize a window.
Perhaps you're in a cabin or in your home and you're looking outside of that window.
You open the curtains and there is thick fog all around you.
You can barely see in front of you.
And that fog represents how the world can make things seem a little hazy.
The busyness clouding how we need to be.
Thinking of your life now,
What's hidden under the fog?
What ways are you hiding yourself,
Your talents,
Your needs?
What doesn't feel clear to you,
Allow yourself to look out the window into that fog and really understand what might feel a little hazy to you.
Just to understand it,
Not to judge it.
What's hiding behind the fog for you right now?
What would you like to feel clear for you?
Now take a breath in.
And as you exhale it out,
The clouds are beginning to move,
Clearing out with the sun rising in the sky.
That fog is lifting and you see the beauty around you.
Things starting to come into focus,
A little lighter.
Now ask yourself,
What do you need that will help lift the fog in your life?
You know what isn't clear.
Now you can start to map out what you need to do to help lift the fog in your life.
You know what isn't clear.
Now you can start to map a way forward.
Tap into what you need to find that clarity.
You look up and see the fog completely lifted.
The sky is beautiful,
Blue.
The world around is buzzing.
You hear birds and the trees are rustling around you.
Breathe in that feeling,
That feeling of warmth and calm enveloping you with each breath.
Now being able to see everything clearly.
Take another look around you and breathe into that clarity.
Notice how the world around you feels more vibrant,
More alive,
With every detail coming into focus.
This is the clarity you've unlocked within yourself.
The awareness of what truly matters and the recognition of your path forward.
Hold on to this clarity.
Now with this sense of clarity and calm,
Take a moment to set an intention for the rest of the day,
The week,
Or even the month ahead.
You know what you need to do to help lift the fog in your life.
You know what you need to do to help lift the fog in your life.
Now with this intention,
For the rest of the day,
The week,
Or even the month ahead,
What do you want to carry with you from this space?
What do you want to release?
Breathe in that intention and let it settle deeply within you.
When you're ready,
Slowly start to bring your awareness back to your breath,
Back to the space that you're in.
Take a nice long,
Slow inhale in through the nose,
And then just let that go.
And once you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes and carry this light,
This clarity with you through your day.
And thank you for meditating with me.
Have a beautiful day.
