Welcome to this guided sleep meditation,
Called the Mindfulness of the Tortoise and the Snail.
Let's begin in your bedroom.
Please prepare your pillow,
Squeeze your pillow tight,
Making a fluffy dreamy pillow.
Relax into bed now.
Relax your head into the dreamy pillow.
But wait,
Stretch your feet,
Just the feet.
Then relax,
Ready for dreaming.
Closing one eye for the tortoise.
Closing the next eye for the snail.
Another day of time rushing by.
The birds fly like shooting arrows.
And yet another day.
But down below,
Close to the ground,
The very old tortoise lived in a world of treasured time.
It's impossible for tortoise to do anything fast.
But his reward is long and somewhat happy life.
He collects a lot of memories,
Those pictures of life,
And all he did see.
Steady wins the race,
So steady was he.
On this new day,
Bright and early,
The tortoise met the little snail.
Even though tortoise is somewhat bigger than this little snail,
They found they both had something in common.
The speed of light.
Both are slow walkers,
Heading down the same path,
Exploring and foraging for food,
All at the same time.
They spoke all about the time of day.
He wins the race,
Said tortoise,
And snail did agree.
So much more I do see upon my way.
The world colours in my life,
So many memories are collected,
That I love to dream of it all at night.
I wasn't made to be in a hurry.
But the gift is I feel,
I experience more life.
Tortoise did spoke and snail did not.
I wish I could go up walls,
Said tortoise like you.
Yes,
Said snail,
Up the walls with my magic glue.
It gives a different view of this world.
The sky is seen from one eye.
The ground seen from my other eye.
This really makes the world look even more so colourful.
They spent the day together and laughed at everyone else rushing around.
We don't belong to speed,
But what we see and experience is the every moment of life.
Our homes are truly on our back.
Inside their shells like an indoor cinema,
To dream about everything they saw that day and every day.
In a world that belongs to time.
They both did not.
We find it is a mindfulness world if you slow down a bit and take it all in.
I wonder if you yourself can remember all the good bits of this day before you closed your eyes to dream.
It's good to remember the best bits and collect those very good pieces and pictures.
For there is magic in collecting the good bits in life.
Now the tortoise and snail shall be dreaming and smiling about being friends,
No matter how small or big you are.
Maybe they will have the same dream,
The places they walked along,
The foods they sat and shared together,
Which will probably be fruits and salad.
Anyway,
It's time for a yawn,
Yawn,
Yawn,
And ready to play the happy cinema of great pictures.
Your eyes did see and smiled about and kept in your heart.
So smile with your heart and take a look in this good dream if you please.
Happy dreams.
