Welcome.
This is Linda G.
Robert.
It's time to just relax.
You've worked hard today.
You've given your energy,
Your focus,
And your time away today.
And now it's time to come home to yourself.
This meditation will gently guide you away from the busy thoughts of the day into a calm space where you can breathe and simply be.
So first,
Make sure you're comfortable,
Either sitting down or lying,
And let your eyes soften or gently close.
Begin by noticing your breath.
Breathe in slowly through your nose and gently out through your mouth.
Feel the cool air enter your nostrils and notice how it's a tad warmer when it leaves your mouth.
Notice your breath as it moves in and out,
Steady,
Calm,
And gentle.
Allow your shoulders to drop and soften your jaw.
You're here to relax.
And place your hands to your side or on your lap wherever they feel more comfortable to you.
And just breathe.
If your mind wanders off,
And it might,
Just bring it back ever so gently to your breath.
Now I'd like you to imagine that you are standing in a wide open land under a deep dark sky.
There's nothing to distract you here.
No noise,
No rush,
Just stillness.
The earth beneath your feet is solid,
Grounding you.
And the sky above is vast,
Filled with thousands if not millions of stars.
Some are so small that you can't see them.
You would need a strong telescope,
But you still try to see them.
You try to find them.
The stars above look so peaceful,
And the moon,
It's a full moon tonight.
So huge that you can see the man on the moon,
Or at least you imagine you can.
You continue to breathe in and out.
A gentle breeze brushes your face soft and cool,
Like a tender touch.
You feel it washing away the tension of the day,
Moving across your skin like a gentle whisper.
As you exhale,
You see a soft mist rising from your breath,
Mingling with the cool air around you.
You watch this mist float away slowly,
Carrying away your worries,
Your concerns.
You're safe here.
You are calm,
And you are free from everything you carried in today.
As you breathe,
You continue to see this gentle mist leave your body,
And it floats away,
Leaving you feel even more calm.
Now let's continue this for another few minutes.
Now bring your awareness gently back to your body.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.
Notice your chest rising and falling with your breath.
Feel the softness of your breath at the nostrils.
As you do this,
You remember the cool breeze on your face,
The stillness of the land.
And if thoughts about your current day come up,
That's okay.
Gently acknowledge them and let them drift away,
Just like the mist.
And return your focus to your breath,
Steady,
Calm,
And present.
Now please repeat silently or aloud the following affirmations.
I release the day.
I welcome peace.
I return to myself.
One more time.
I release the day.
I welcome peace.
I return to myself.
Please begin to deepen your breath,
And wiggle your fingers and toes.
And wiggle your fingers and toes gently.
It's time to be in the present moment again.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes gently.
Take your time.
And thank you so much for gifting yourself this quiet moment.
Remember,
This calm is always within you,
Waiting.
