Settle into a comfortable position.
Close your eyes if you wish and let's begin.
Begin by noticing your breath.
Breathe in slowly through your nose and gently out through your mouth.
Feel the rhythm of your breath as it moves naturally.
That's right,
Just keep breathing.
Now I'd like you to imagine the fresh scent of pine trees and earth on a cool day.
Feel the soft rustle of leaves in the breeze.
And feel the gentle touch of air on your skin.
Now picture yourself stepping onto a soft,
Earthy path.
And with each step,
You feel the gentle crunch of fallen leaves beneath your feet.
The path winds through tall trees,
Their branches swaying ever so lightly.
The sky is overcast,
But so peaceful.
And you hear the distant call of birds settling in for the evening.
As you walk,
You notice the first few drops of rain,
Soft and cool.
They're just beginning to fall.
The air smells fresh and clean.
And you pull your coat tighter around you,
Feeling cozy and safe.
Quite a bit ahead,
You see a warm glow from the cabin that you've been going to for years.
And this could be a real cabin that you enjoyed being in.
Or one that you've imagined over the years.
And it's nestled among the trees,
Looking quite quaint.
And you notice the windows appear slightly open.
You continue to walk,
Just a little faster now.
But not too fast,
Because you are truly enjoying your walk in the rain today.
As you continue to make your way to the cabin,
Pay attention to what you're smelling and to what you're seeing around you.
And it could be trees,
It could be leaves,
You could be smelling the moist air or the grass beneath your feet.
Just notice what you're smelling and what you're seeing.
You finally get to the cabin.
You open the door and you step inside.
The wooden floor creaks softly beneath your feet.
The scent of warm wood and herbs fill the air.
And you see your favorite chair by the window.
You decide to gently close the windows,
But leave a small crack open,
So that you can hear the rain's soft melody.
In the kitchen,
You make your favorite warm and cozy drink.
And you can feel the warmth of the cup in your hands.
And you decide to take a nice slow sip.
Feel the warmth spread through your body.
Now,
Sit back in your favorite chair by the window and listen to the steady,
Calming rhythm of rain tapping on the roof and the windows.
Allow yourself to be fully present in this very peaceful moment.
And know that this calm and comfort is always available to you.
After some time,
You notice the rain softening,
The drops falling less often.
You get up from the chair and you make your way to the door and you open it.
You immediately feel the cool,
Fresh air on your face.
You step outside and stand on the porch for another few minutes.
You're not in a rush.
You wipe the wet seat next to you gently with your hand.
You sit on it and linger for another few minutes.
Now it's time to make your way back onto the path you walked on before.
You close the door behind you and start making your way back.
The ground is soft now beneath your feet,
And tiny drops still fall here and there from the trees above.
You walk slowly.
You are not in a hurry.
And each step feels light,
Feels steady,
And so peaceful.
You carry the warmth of the cabin within you,
The stillness,
The calm,
And the gentle strength.
And the path leads you back to where you began this journey.
You pause here for a moment.
Taking a dip,
Nourishing breath in,
And slowly breathing out.
And some drops fall from the trees above you.
And you now have a new sense of appreciation.
You are so full of gratitude for the rain,
For the cabin,
For the moments of quietness.
And in a minute,
You'll be returning to your present moment.
But for now,
Let's spend one more minute in silence.
Begin now to bring your awareness back to your breath.
Notice the rise and the fall of your chest.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
