Hello,

This is Linda G.

Robert.

Today's meditation is one that allows you to reconnect with your child,

No matter their age.

So let's begin.

I invite you to take a comfortable seat or lie down in a position that allows your body to fully rest.

Let your hands fall naturally to the sides.

Unclench your jaw and soften your shoulders.

Gently close your eyes and take a long slow breath in through your nose and breathe out slowly through your mouth.

Let's take a few breaths like this again.

Inhale deeply and exhale fully.

And with each breath,

Allow your body to become heavier,

More grounded,

And more relaxed.

And with each breath,

Allow your body to become heavier,

More grounded,

And more relaxed.

Breathing in calm and breathing out tension.

Notice the rhythm of your breath,

Like gentle waves moving in and out,

Moving in and moving out.

Allow yourself to simply rest in this flow for a few quiet moments.

Now bring to mind your child,

And it could be a son or a daughter,

No matter their age.

Picture them as clearly as you can.

See their face,

Their smile,

Their posture,

Maybe even the way they look at you.

And allow a memory to come forward,

Perhaps a time when you felt close or when you laughed together.

Or when you shared a special moment.

Let this memory fill your heart.

Now,

If your relationship has felt strained,

That's okay.

In this meditation,

We're not here to focus on conflict,

But rather to open the space for warmth,

For love,

And for compassion.

So take your time.

Notice how your body feels as you hold this memory.

Or notice how your body feels as you notice the presence of your child in your mind's eye.

Keep breathing.

Breathe into this feeling,

And let your heart expand gently with love.

Whatever you're experiencing is okay.

Whatever sensations come up are simply sensations.

Send love to those sensations.

Send love to those thoughts that come up,

The feelings that may come up.

Now,

Silently,

Repeat these phrases toward your child,

Imagining them surrounded by light and love.

May you be safe.

May you be healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you live with ease.

If it feels right,

Imagine your breath carrying these wishes directly to them,

Wherever they are.

And take your time.

Let each phrase sink deeply into your heart.

Even if there are challenges in your relationship,

Allow this moment to be one of unconditional love and blessing.

Let's repeat these phrases again.

May you be safe.

May you be healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you live with ease.

Keep repeating these phrases quietly to yourself.

I'll repeat them just a few more times.

May you be safe.

May you be healthy.

May you be peaceful.

May you live with ease.

And continue on your own for a few more moments.

And it's okay if you don't remember all the phrases.

If you remember simply one of them,

That's fine.

There's no right or wrong way to send love and compassion to someone.

Now gently shift your attention to yourself.

As parents,

We sometimes hold guilt and regret or self-judgment.

But in this space right here,

Right now,

You're invited to treat yourself with the same compassion you offered your child.

Now silently repeat after me.

May I be safe.

May I be healthy.

May I be peaceful.

May I live with ease.

May I be safe.

May I be healthy.

May I be peaceful.

May I live with ease.

And again,

Just a few more times.

On your own.

Allow these words to soften your heart.

To remind you that you too are worthy of love and kindness.

Take a nice deep breath in.

And breathe out slowly,

Letting go of any heaviness that you may feel.

Let's continue by bringing awareness to our breath.

Notice how your body feels in this moment.

Notice the warmth of love you've shared for your child and for yourself.

Notice your breath.

Notice the warmth around your love and heart.

Now take one final deep breath in,

Filling your lungs with calm.

And with love.

And exhale,

Letting your heart settle in peace.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

And carry this sense of kindness and compassion with you into the rest of your day.
