Welcome,
Welcome,
Welcoming ourselves,
Welcoming each other,
Welcoming this breath,
Welcoming this field of gravity that we are within that is holding our bodies.
Let's welcome ourselves into our actual factual moment here with conscious attention.
Let's welcome ourselves here.
Acknowledging and experiencing just the bare basics of our sitting breathing bodies here,
Our sit bones resting wherever they are,
Our legs,
Amazing legs,
Feet,
Whatever they're making contact with in your own context,
Welcoming that context of connection,
Real connection,
Body in gravity on object of floor or bed or couch,
Etc.
Welcome,
Welcoming arms,
Hands,
Wherever they're resting,
However they're positioned.
So glad that you're here.
Our arms and legs and hands and feet do so much work and in this moment they just get to rest.
They don't have to do much,
They don't do much of anything,
They can if they want in this moment and that's fine and they can also rest,
Be heavy,
Be soft if they want to be.
Thank you arms and legs and hands and feet,
Welcome and breath,
Welcome breath,
Breath that is always here.
Our experience of breath constantly changing and nevertheless breath always here,
Nurturing us unconditionally.
Breath doesn't care who we are,
What we do,
How much we earn,
Our gender,
Our race,
Our sexuality,
Doesn't care,
Just loves us indiscriminately.
Welcome breath.
Thank you breath.
Thank you breath,
Thank you breath,
Thank you breath.
Let breath breathe you in.
When we take a half step back into that field of gravity that's holding us,
We feel that sturdiness and dependability of floor or chair or couch and we lean back into that.
We can then just watch breath breathe us.
We can watch how this form breathes in,
How breath breathes this form in,
Raising our bodies up a little bit,
Filling our bodies up a little bit and then we can watch,
We can observe,
We can feel literally the release out.
Sometimes we can even hear the breath out,
The release out as we subtly and simply fall back into the field of gravity.
So just watch and feel and experience the body being breathed in,
Filling and rising and then just simply through the breath cycle,
You don't have to make it happen,
The body breathes out and it falls back,
It surrenders back to the field of gravity,
Back to the bed,
Back to the floor,
Back to the chair and there is perpetually this simple movement of filling and emptying.
Feel the breath going out,
I'm inviting you particularly to feel that releasing out and just let the inhalation happen and bring more conscious attention to that breath leaving.
Let it go.
Breathe in,
Let it out,
Breathe in and let it go.
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Let it out,
Breathe in and let it go.
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Let it out.
You don't have to know what you're releasing,
You can just feel it happening.
You don't have to get intellectual with it or conceptual with it,
You can just directly skip all that and experience the releasing,
The letting go.
As you're feeling and experiencing that exhalation leaving and then the inhalation filling,
Let your attention meander through your sitting breathing body.
Just noticing if there's some habitual,
Innocent,
Accidental holdings that are here right now.
I often accidentally hold in my jaw,
So that's an area I meander into like,
Am I accidentally holding in my embouchure,
My jaw right now?
If I am,
No judgment needed,
I can see if I need to in this moment and maybe I do and that's okay too,
But maybe I don't.
If I don't need to hold on to that holding in the jaw,
I can release it out with the exhalation.
Other areas that we habitually hold can be hands,
It can be the inner thighs,
It can be in the pelvic floor,
The buttocks or the vaginal area,
Belly,
All sorts of accidental,
Incidental holdings,
Habitual holdings.
We're not bringing a judging mind or a should or supposed to mind,
We're bringing a curious meander of mind,
A curiosity of,
Oh,
I didn't know I was holding and do I need to in this moment?
And with that invitation to release what we don't need to be holding on to in this moment.
So,
I'm going to do that.
I'm going to do that.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
I release all things that no longer work for me.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
I release all things that no longer work for me.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
I release all things that no longer work for me.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
I release all things that no longer work for me.
I'm going to invite you to continue to stay out of concepts or analyzation or supposed to's or figuring it out mind and stay with the happening that is already in process.
There is already releasing happening.
Notice the releasing that is already happening through that exhalation or maybe in other ways for you.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
I release all things that no longer serve me.
Be like water my friend.
I don't know about you but breath often feels like an ebbing and flowing of water.
Nothing gets in the way of breath.
Now we may feel different things with breath but breath always makes it through.
Makes it through all of the cracks in us all the way into our cellular networks.
Breath is like water it can flow or it can crash and we design the waves we give.
We design the shape we're in and the waves we give.
Be like water my friend.
You shall find a way around or through it when nothing within us stays rigid.
We design the shape we're in.
Empty your mind.
Be shapeless and formless like water it can flow or it can crash.
Be like water my friend.
You shall find a way around or through it when nothing within us stays rigid.
We design the shape we're in and the waves we give.
We design the shape we're in.
Empty your mind.
Be shapeless and formless like water it can flow or it can crash.
We got to slow down to really be with our human nature.
Human natures together this morning.
And I'm so grateful to have other people to be human with.
To slow down to include my humanness.
To be real with my experience of always being supported by breath,
By the field of gravity,
With each other.
And I hope you go into your day remembering something that dropped in for you today.
