Welcome.
Before we begin this meditation practice,
Find a comfortable position in a quiet place.
Rest your hands wherever feels good,
And then let your eyes gently close.
This may be something that comes easily to you or not.
Either way,
We're going to use this meditation to develop and strengthen our confidence like we would any other muscle.
First,
Let's take a few deep breaths with long inhales and slow exhales.
Breathe into the belly,
Filling up all sides of your torso.
And slowly breathe out.
Twice more.
Breathe in.
And slowly out.
Last time,
Slow breath in.
And long breath out.
Now with your mind's eye,
Bring about an image of what you think the posture of an extremely confident person looks like.
How are the shoulders being held on the body of someone who is very sure of themselves?
How does the head balance atop the spine of someone who knows they have so much to offer to the world?
Now imagine yourself holding the same posture as if you were looking at a picture of yourself or maybe a video.
See your neck elongated,
Supporting the head with ease.
Feel the power of having your chest open and elevated,
Able to breathe fully.
Notice how your feet are firmly bound to the ground until you decide to walk.
And then your legs make it effortless to move gracefully along.
When we're confident,
Talking to people is enjoyable.
And other people look forward to hearing what we have to say.
So see yourself now very clearly talking to a loved one with ease.
Perhaps you can imagine telling them a good idea you're having.
Notice how they respond to you with respect and curiosity to know more.
Now expand this image and see yourself talking in the same manner as you were with your friend.
You're talking to a small group of people and they're captivated by your essence.
Notice how it's nice to express what makes you passionate about life and share your thoughts.
You can see that when you're speaking to this group,
They're enjoying what you have to say.
Notice your posture again in front of this group.
Fingers are relaxed and back,
The head is held high,
And the chin is lifted.
Maybe there's a gentle smile on your face.
Feel the ease with which you're holding yourself.
Now see yourself finishing up this small gathering and thank them for giving you their attention.
And they authentically express how they're delighted to have witnessed your confidence and learn from all the things you've had to say.
We are confident when we accept who we are.
So right now,
See your body in all its beauty exactly as it is.
Feel an acceptance of your body,
Which is your soul's vehicle,
Important to take care of yourself,
But also just a body.
Then view your personality as a whole.
All the things you're proud of and all the things you don't love about yourself,
Let it all come to mind.
Now begin to view everything as a part of what makes you who you are.
All of your traits are part of a greater whole,
Making you exactly who you are.
Now repeat after me.
I love and accept myself exactly as I am.
Once more,
I love and accept myself exactly as I am.
Now imagine how confident you want to be in every area of life.
And then start to feel as if it's already so.
Getting to mind a situation that maybe causes you anxiety because of a lack of confidence.
Maybe it's giving a speech,
Interviewing for a job,
Going on a date.
Whatever it is,
Imagine yourself in that situation full of confidence.
Take a nice deep breath in and imagine yourself speaking and acting with ease.
You see yourself sitting or standing tall,
Your head and chest lifted,
Looking confidently at whomever you're speaking to.
Now notice the other person's face.
You can see there's kindness and curiosity in their eyes.
You see they're smiling at you because they want to talk to you and they enjoy what you have to say.
Your mind is always going to imagine a scenario,
So why not imagine the most positive one possible?
What if things happened exactly as you hoped they would?
Now allow this image to fade,
But retain the way exhibiting that confidence makes you feel.
Now repeat these affirmations.
I am confident.
I speak to others with ease.
My posture exudes confidence.
Others enjoy listening to me just as I enjoy speaking to them.
Nothing can stop me from being completely self-assured.
I am enough exactly as I am.
I love and accept myself unconditionally.
I love and accept myself unconditionally.
Allow these words to go deep within to the core of your being.
Slowly return to the present moment.
Take as much time as you like.
Whenever you feel ready,
Slowly and gently open your eyes.
