If your desire is to quit smoking for good and you are committed to listen to your sessions each night for the next two weeks or more to embed all the suggestions,

Then hypnosis is very powerful and effective to put the power and control back in your own mind to finally quit smoking.

Please listen to this first session every day for at least two weeks,

Because you will be learning to use new breathing skills.

This is vital as the cravings many smokers mention that they have when they stop smoking is nothing more than the subconscious part of their mind,

Reminding them it's time to breathe deeply,

Which can really help with cravings and mood swings as you become a non-smoker for the rest of your life.

Please do not listen to this recording while driving a vehicle or operating machinery.

Take a moment to settle yourself comfortably wherever you may be.

Perhaps you can feel the support of the chair if you're sitting or the softness of pillows if you are lying down.

I invite you to uncross your arms and ankles and allow your whole body to sink into the comfort of your chosen position.

You may feel the desire to close down your eyes or if they would like to stay open perhaps you can find a spot to focus on and soften your gaze on that spot until they are ready to close down.

Take your time and breathe in slowly through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

You can continue to do this several times thinking of nothing but the breath entering and exiting your lungs.

It's as if you are following along,

Allowing all the known and unknown tension to leave your body.

Perhaps your shoulders,

Neck and scalp are becoming deeply relaxed and maybe your breathing is slow,

Rhythmic and relaxed.

Relax.

Notice if your limbs and torso are sinking.

That's right,

Sinking deeply into relaxation.

It may be that your hands feel heavy,

So heavy that you can barely move even a finger.

Or it may be that the noises surrounding you begin to fade into the distance.

All you need to do is just be here in this space.

And if you are aware of any sounds around you,

Just notice the sounds.

They do not need to intrude on your thoughts.

They may not even trouble or distract you at all.

Your mind is letting go of all thoughts.

Or if you have a thought that is in your mind,

All you need to do is simply acknowledge its presence.

Just notice it and very soon as you be here in this space,

You might become aware of how wonderfully comfortable your mind and body feel.

It's different for everyone and every time you listen to this session,

There is no right way or no wrong way.

There is only your way and all you have to do is simply experience what you experience and go wherever you go.

And as you continue to listen to my voice,

Perhaps you notice that it is the only thing that matters right now.

The more you listen to my voice,

The more you relax.

And sooner or later,

Some people no longer notice background noises or if you do,

They simply add to your feeling of relaxation.

And soon you may start to settle even further down into relaxation that is both comfortable and comforting.

That's right,

All you need to do is follow along and tune in wherever you are.

Nobody wants anything from you because you are here relaxing in your own space right at this moment.

That's right.

And as you continue to breathe,

You can settle back and relax yourself even deeper.

And you can take a deep breath in and exhale.

And in a moment,

I'm going to count some numbers.

And as I count down from 10 to 1,

You might feel yourself sinking,

Your whole body feeling heavy with the warmth of relaxation and comfort.

Relax.

That's right.

And now begin counting from number 10.

Notice your feet resting side by side.

And perhaps your toes and ankles feel as if they are wrapped in the comforting warmth of energy rising up from the earth and into your body.

Deeper and deeper.

Relax.

Nine,

The warmth envelops your calves up to your knees and maybe you'd like to give this warm energy a shape and a colour.

Or perhaps it might feel like being surrounded in a soft mist.

Or you may see it as a piece of soft velvet enveloping you from the feet upwards.

Relax.

Eight,

Sinking deeper now,

Allowing your body to sink into the warmth and comfort.

Seeing the energy swirling all around your thighs and hips and the larger muscles of your lower torso.

Relax.

Seven,

The relaxation enters your abdomen and up through the chest,

Bringing warmth and comfort to all of your organs and muscles.

Relax.

Six,

As the feeling of relaxation continues to grow,

Perhaps you feel your shoulders relaxing.

Your neck relaxing.

Your jaw releasing any tension.

That's right.

Five,

There is nowhere else you need to be,

Only to be here,

Experiencing what you are experiencing.

Relax.

Four,

Perhaps you might see yourself descending some steps down,

Down towards a comfortable space filled with pillows and warmth that is waiting to welcome you.

Relax.

Three,

Step down slowly,

Going down further,

Stepping lightly.

You can see the space where you will be welcomed into deep,

Deep relaxation.

Two,

You can see and feel the effects of deep relaxation.

And perhaps you are enfolded into the comfortable embrace.

As you step down the last step,

Number one.

That's right.

Step down into the space of total relaxation.

Relax.

Total comfort.

And with each breath you take,

You can become more aware of the natural rhythms of your breathing and feelings of calm and peace that develops through your body.

And I don't know,

But you now may be aware of the power of your unconscious mind.

It knows more about your abilities and what you are capable of than your conscious mind does.

Your unconscious mind knows what resources you have.

It knows how you can use those resources to achieve the things you truly desire.

And your conscious mind can now begin to realize this.

You may find that you give permission to your conscious mind to accept all of the suggestions you will hear.

And working together,

Your unconscious and your conscious minds will allow you to know that you already have all the skills,

Capabilities and resources you need in order to quit smoking forever.

That's right.

Every positive suggestion you hear can now be allowed to sink into your conscious and your unconscious.

And all you need to do is remain comfortable and relaxed.

And these positive suggestions will become a permanent part of your everyday life.

They influence your behavior in a positive and healthy way.

As you stay warm and relaxed in your safe space,

Allowing my voice to remind your unconscious mind that it knows exactly what you need to do.

Exactly how you need to behave so that your quit smoking goal can be made a reality for you.

That's right.

Just relax into the comfort.

Easily and effortlessly.

As you feel your body growing more relaxed.

Feel the muscles of your body becoming warmer,

Softer.

And you may find it helpful to imagine that your muscles are melting.

Turning into puddles of subtle relaxation.

And you can acknowledge that you have been a smoker.

And you're listening right now because you want to change that.

There are a number of excellent reasons to quit smoking.

What are yours?

Do you have a health issue?

Or fear having one in the future?

Bring to mind your reasons.

Perhaps it is the constant purchase of cigarettes causing financial problems.

As your smoking habit made you an outcast in your social circle.

How do you feel about yourself?

And what are your reasons to quit smoking?

You are here to quit smoking.

And as you relax more deeply into your body.

Allow yourself to feel how important this goal to quit smoking is to you.

You do want to be independent of this habit.

Long and healthy life.

Your reasons for wanting to quit smoking are exactly reasons why you can.

They are tied to your emotions.

And your emotions are the language of your subconscious.

It's speaking to you now.

Reminding you of the first time you ever picked up a cigarette.

Why did you pick up that cigarette?

Were you trying to fit in with your peers?

Or you just tried to have a new and interesting experience?

Perhaps you were seeking relief from stress.

Or because you were offered a cigarette.

Whatever the reasons you started.

You have probably found they aren't relevant anymore.

They are in your past and have no bearing on your life now.

They are of no benefit to you and do not align with your current values.

Or where you want to be in your life.

Or who you want to be.

There are lots of things from your past that you've left behind quite easily and naturally.

For example,

You wear underwear now instead of your training pants you did as an infant.

You probably drive a car or ride a bus to wherever you have to go instead of walking or getting a ride.

You picked up smoking in the past,

But that part of you can fall away too.

Just like you've broken contact with your lovers,

Friends and acquaintances.

Just like you have got rid of old worn out clothes or switched jobs.

You eventually move on to things that used to be normal and commonplace for you.

Even if it's difficult at first.

You've somehow always been able to successfully leave the past in the past.

Allow your unconscious mind to remind you of all the things that you have successfully left in the past.

And you know there's no benefit to smoking.

You give your time,

Your health and money to it.

And it gives you nothing in return.

You receive absolutely no benefit.

Just as you receive no benefit from a job you no longer hold or clothes that no longer fit,

Your smoking no longer fits you.

It's out of alignment with your highest values and the future you want for yourself.

This is why you are able to release it without resistance.

Can you not?

Currently you are breathing steady and strong.

Oddly enough,

It may be the same type of breathing you used to do when you smoked.

A smooth inhale followed by a longer,

Slower,

Equally smooth exhale.

Fortunately,

You do not need a cigarette between your fingers in order for you to enjoy a good breath.

You never did.

All you needed was to focus and inhale for three seconds,

Then exhale for seven seconds.

Let's try that controlled,

Relaxing breathing.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three.

And exhale for one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven.

And again,

This time paying special attention to really hitting that seven second mark on the exhale.

On your next breath,

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three.

And exhale for one,

Two,

Five,

Six,

Seven.

Keep going.

Notice that with every breath,

You can feel a pleasant tingle throughout your body.

That's your muscles relaxing themselves further.

Enjoying this sensation will draw you into an even deeper experience.

Simply focus on your breathing and the words you hear.

A happy and fortunate day.

Because now you realize that stress relief is available to you anytime.

Anytime you step outside and take a break.

You can simply breathe the same way you're doing now.

And every time you do this it calms your nervous system down.

All the way down.

And you easily let go of any cravings or urges to pick up a cigarette.

That's right.

In order to stop smoking you never have to pick up a cigarette or pack it again.

Bring before you in your mind's eye the image of a cigarette.

What is that thing anyway?

Perhaps you once looked at it and saw your undoing.

A great source of temptation.

You thought of it as something you had to have or else.

But now that you are in a state of calm contentment,

Breathing in for three seconds and exhaling for seven.

Your inner vision is clear.

You see that cigarette for exactly what it is.

An inanimate object with absolutely no power over you.

It is only some paper with some tobacco stuffed inside.

A brand name printed on it.

A filter on the end.

It's someone's invention.

Just like a car or chair but not nearly as useful.

It's a tool that's designed solely to make its manufacturers money at your expense.

It's not there to serve,

Enrich or empower you.

In fact,

It can't do any of these things.

It can only do the opposite.

It gives you nothing but costs you everything.

It's a disgusting device filled with poisons,

Chemicals,

Tar and whale vomit.

It is inanimate.

It can't purchase itself,

Light itself or put itself up to your lips.

It doesn't have any power,

Life or ability that you don't give it and you are finished giving into it.

Are you not?

That stick of paper does do some things though.

It makes your clothes smell bad.

It repels your friends and family.

Perhaps it repels your partner.

Even pets.

And it's the perfect example of a behaviour you hope no one you love ever adopts.

You can ward off potential lovers with it.

Age your skin,

Heart and lungs with it.

You can use it to perfume your house if you never want anyone to come and visit.

You can keep them hidden in your car,

Your bedside table,

A shoebox or handbag.

So you always have something to feel guilty and ashamed for.

Can you imagine if pets smoked?

Being around that smoke is the same thing.

Whether it's a pet,

Children,

Your loved ones.

Cigarettes are good for all of those things but absolutely nothing else.

The thought of dragging in all those toxins,

That grey smoke coating your lungs,

The foul breath and stench on your skin and in your hair disgusts you even more.

And you can see how stupid it is to do such a horrible act to yourself and to those that you love.

And now you are here because you have decided it is time to quit smoking for good and you alone possess the power to control and relax yourself and make this happen easily and effortlessly.

Anytime you used to take a cigarette break can be used to enjoy this type of deep cleansing breathing.

All you have the urge to do now is to inhale for one,

Three and exhale for one,

Five,

Six,

Seven.

Whether it is the first thing in the morning,

During work,

Studying,

While driving,

After a meal or in front of the television,

Use it anytime to relieve boredom,

Anxiety,

Stress or worry.

And as I was naming these common instances of cigarette use,

You could identify exactly what your triggers were.

Could you not?

You know what your favourite times to smoke were and under what circumstances you were most likely to smoke.

And as you maintain this awareness,

You can keep it at the forefront of your mind.

This way you will make it difficult for old habits to slip past you as you create a new habit instead.

When you find yourself in a vulnerable situation,

Use the breathing technique.

It will bring on the nearly instant calmness and satisfaction you once got from smoking.

And every time you are quick to identify familiar situations,

You easily and effortlessly perform the breath pattern right away.

Inhale for one,

Two,

Three and exhale for one,

Three,

Four,

Six,

Seven.

That's right.

Feel that fresh air going into your lungs and when you exhale you let go of all the known and unknown stress that would have caused you to smoke in the past.

Imagine for a moment if you did this faithfully each and every time you felt the urge to smoke.

You will have spared yourself one cigarette,

Then ten,

Then one hundred.

Where would that put you in six months?

That's right.

See yourself in six months as a natural non-smoker.

See yourself,

Enjoy your life the way you should.

You have the skills and abilities to overcome this challenge of smoking.

Do you not?

That's right.

And you have overcome this challenge of smoking.

You have taken control of your life and you've put smoking behind you for good.

See yourself.

You are a healthy person and it feels wonderful to you to realize that.
