
Morning Meditation For Inner Peace & Focus

Welcome in a new day with this morning meditation to draw you deeper into the stillness and serenity of your core being to create a sense of inner peace, focus, and productivity that you may carry with you throughout your day.
Transcript
Good morning and welcome to this new day.
This morning meditation will draw you deeper into the stillness and serenity of your core being to create a sense of inner peace that you may carry with you throughout your day.
Take a few moments to position yourself somewhere that is most comfortable to you.
As you find that comfortable position,
I invite you to anchor into this moment by simply taking a deep mindful breath in,
Filling your lungs with air and exhale pushing the air out.
Take another deep breath,
Pulling in the air and exhale pushing the air out,
Moving the energy through the body.
Perhaps you can bring your awareness to your breathing,
Noticing the natural rhythm and flow of your breath.
Making note of how this life force nourishes and sustains you through both waking and sleeping life.
Though you may consciously guide your breath,
It's good to know that it does not require any effort to perform its task.
It has its own wisdom and breathes for you.
Take a moment now to pay closer attention to it and perhaps giving gratitude for its presence and helping to anchor into this time and space.
Before we begin our daily activities,
Grounding ourselves in this present moment helps us to acknowledge and release any feelings and sensations of anxiety,
Restlessness,
Worries and fears that may be lingering in the body or the mind.
Take a few moments to simply observe the space you are occupying,
The space around you and the breath you draw in from this space that nourishes every cell of your body.
Inhale allowing the chest to rise and the stomach to expand completely and everything exhale allowing the chest to fall and the stomach to relax and soften and all the muscles of the body to release any stiffness or tightness from a night of being still.
If you have woken up this morning with any sensation of heaviness or experiencing feelings of worry or of uneasiness about what this day will bring,
I invite you to observe what you are experiencing as though you are the witness.
And as you observe you can softly detach mentally from this sensation,
This feeling,
These thoughts just by noting its presence in the body and the mind.
Detaching does not require us to suppress or deny,
Instead it is a way of shifting our relationship to whatever we are experiencing and simply acknowledge and observe taking away any pull and uneasiness.
And to help you bring greater awareness let's do a gentle body scan through each and every muscle group witnessing if there is any tightness,
Any heaviness or any tingling that may be present and perhaps any associated sensations and thoughts with your mental or emotional state.
If you feel calm and at peace already,
Continue to witness this harmonious state you are in,
Focusing on the steady rhythm of your breath as you enjoy these moments of serenity and stillness ahead of the day's activities.
Breathing now right down at the toes,
Bring your focus all the way down to the tips of the toes and begin moving up through your feet,
Up through your ankles,
The calves,
The shins,
The knees,
All the way up through your buttocks and the hips.
Continue scanning up through your torso,
All the way up your body,
Making your way up towards the neck and up through the head,
Tuning into the muscles around the eyes,
The eyebrows,
The forehead,
The jaw and your tongue.
Just see if you can soften and relax even further.
As you gently scan your body,
Notice if the breath or rest of the body changes in any way.
Notice if there is a shift in the state of your mind,
Sensations and feelings.
Hold your entire body in your conscious awareness,
Breathing into each cell of the body as you rest here with nothing to do yet and nothing to accomplish,
Only to sink into the pure bliss of simply being here right now in this time and space just for you.
The benefit of a morning meditation is that it sets the stage for the rest of the day,
Granting us the opportunity to harness the energy we wish to experience as we move into the world and participate.
This special moment allows us to tune into the heart space and explore our deepest passions and desires,
To tune into our goals and the actions we need to take and to feel good about what we need to do on this day.
Bringing your attention to the chest,
Become the witness of the heart opening like a flower and softening with each full breath.
On each inhalation notice the chest expand and on each exhalation notice the chest soften,
Relaxing,
Letting go of stagnant fearful or tense energy that may be lingering.
Continue to breathe through the heart space,
Seeing if you can connect with what this space represents to feel.
What sensations are you experiencing?
What message or messages might your highest self have for you?
How do you want to experience your day?
The heart is the centre of our being representing balance and harmony,
Allowing us to experience a great sense of alignment with everything around us.
As each and every new day opens us up to the unknown,
Moving from the heart space helps us to embody inner peace and to be true to our authentic self.
Trusting the heart and its intelligence by tuning into the breath as it moves through the heart creates a sense of peacefulness,
Calmness and centeredness.
All these qualities are our birthright and held beneath the surface of moving energies.
With that notion in heart and mind I invite you to call in your sense of inner peace alongside the subtle movement of air into and out of the lungs.
Whether you feel sure or unsure of what this day will bring there is always an element of uncertainty in life.
This is where wonderful opportunities and our growth are discovered.
As we surrender our need to control or to know exactly what will happen we find a greater ability to flow with life as it unfolds.
An inner confidence begins to unveil itself as we tune into our intuition.
We develop into our best versions of who we are as we let go of resistance and simply allow.
Take a few deep breaths now into the space of the spine witnessing the expansion and contraction of the belly with each full breath.
As you gently guide the breath into the belly any residual stress within your body or mind begins to fall away.
See it all release as you activate the body's relaxation response through the breath.
That place of inner calm that exists inside invited out for today to embrace the day with ease.
Take a few moments of silence now to sink even further into this deepened breath to ground you into the here and now comfortably into this present moment.
You might sense a lightness washing over you or an expanded presence that wasn't there upon waking.
Tune into the sensations and this expansion.
Allowing the chest and belly to grow even larger on the next inhalation.
You might even release any leftover resistance on the next exhalation.
And from this place of lightness,
Calmness and presence.
Tune back into the heart center as you check in with what your most authentic self yearns to embody today.
It might be a continued sense of inner peace it might be confidence it might be compassion it might be energy and radiance it might be courage call it forth and embrace it.
Whatever it is ensure that it is light.
It is aligned with the peaceful presence you are moving into right now.
And take this moment to silently whisper your intention to yourself.
Making sure you frame it in the present tense in the here and now.
Envision that you already embody this virtue you yearn for right now.
Feel it.
Notice the sensations.
And take three more deep breaths slow and steady.
As you enjoy these last few moments of a new morning in mindful meditation before stepping peacefully and confidently into the day ahead of you.
And you might like to gently draw your hands to your heart.
Feel your heartbeat.
And you can silently repeat these words or say them out aloud.
Peace begins within.
Peace lives within.
Peace will stay within.
I am peace.
And when you are ready gently open your eyes.
Take a nice deep cleansing breath as you move or stretch your body.
Staying anchored into this peaceful place you have cultivated within you.
If you would like to take a few moments just to be here until you feel ready to move on with your day knowing you are ready you are confident to make the most of every opportunity enjoying your day.
