Welcome to this New Moon Meditation practice.
This is a space where every single part of you is welcome.
You don't have to change a single thing about yourself to practice with me today.
Find yourself in a place of comfort whether that's sitting in a chair,
Sitting on the earth or even lying down.
As long as your spine is long and you feel comfortable that is the perfect position for you.
The invitation is to close down your eyes but if that doesn't feel good please feel free to keep the eyes open and let the eyelids softly softly relax.
As you begin to settle into your space start to focus on your breath.
Drawing an inhale through the nose and perhaps letting your exhale fall out of the mouth.
Take a couple of breaths like that.
Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Exhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth letting go.
Softening into your body.
Softening into your breath.
Allowing everything that has been up until this moment to rest in the past.
As you bring yourself into the present moment.
Using the breath as an anchor.
Allowing each exhale to remind you to soften.
To let go and to sink a little deeper into relaxation.
Giving yourself permission to show up however you are today.
Without any need to change anything at all.
Simply breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.
During this new moon practice I'll be guiding you to settle into the energy at your heart space.
So that you can begin to cultivate whatever it is you need or wish to call in for the month ahead.
New moon is the perfect time to plant seeds of intention into the fertile soil of your mind through meditation.
Bring your awareness now to your heart space.
As you begin to breathe into your heart.
Allow the breath to be whatever it wants to be in this moment.
Maybe it's gentle,
Maybe it's deep.
Allowing your focus to be at the energetic heart centre.
Perhaps even placing a hand at the heart centre.
If you've placed the hand at the heart centre feel the contact between your palm and the chest.
Let your awareness reside there as you breathe.
With your awareness resting at the heart space let that drop a little deeper now.
Dropping down into the heart.
About two inches below the rib cage.
Between the back and the front of your heart space.
You might see a light,
A colour in this place where your energetic heart centre resides.
Let your awareness rest there.
As you breathe in through the nose and out through the nose.
As your awareness rests here at the centre of the rib cage where your energetic heart centre resides.
Ask yourself what am I calling in under the darkness of the new moon?
What do I need to support me for this next cycle?
Notice if a particular word,
Thought or feeling arises when you ask your heart these questions.
What is it that you need?
What are you calling in?
What is it that you need?
Notice how it feels to listen to the calling of your heart.
Notice how it feels to honour your heart in this way.
Notice how it feels to tune into the thing that you need or the thing that you are calling in under the darkness of the new moon.
And as we take our last few breaths together here,
Perhaps consider reaching for your journal and making a note of your intentions so that you can remind yourself on a daily basis of what it is you need or what you wish to call in.
