My name is Kristy McKinley.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and Healer for Healers.
I drew inspiration for this root chakra meditation from the works of Shakti Gawain and Brenda Davies.
I hope this meditation speaks to your spirit.
Please do not drive or operate machinery while listening to this meditation.
Sit or lie down where you will not be disturbed.
Take this time for yourself to be kind to yourself.
There is nowhere else you have to be right now.
There is nothing else you have to do.
You are going to take four belly breaths.
Inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale.
One,

Three,
Four.
Inhale.

Imagine roots emerging from the base of your spine and the bottoms of your feet.
Your roots are going into the floor,
Into the ground beneath you,
Into the earth,
Around pebbles and underground rivers,
Deep into the earth,
Deep into the dark,
Warm,
Rich earth.
May you connect with the spirit of the earth to ground you,
To protect you as you do this meditation.
When you're ready,
Open up the top of your head to the heavens and let the light of the universe flow in like a gentle stream,
Past your eyes,
Past your throat to connect with your heart,
Down to your solar plexus,
Into your sacral,
Into your root chakra.
And may the energy come up through your root and your feet,
Through the sacral,
Through the solar plexus,
To connect with your heart and melt there.
Imagine your standing barefoot in a field of green grass.
You flex your toes and feel the earth beneath your feet.
A gentle breeze caresses your face.
Clouds float without effort in the sky.
The sun's light is gentle,
Rising above the horizon,
Warms your skin.
You walk toward the rising sun and each step brings you closer to a large cluster of bushes.
As you come closer,
You realize they are rose bushes.
Each bush has hundreds of deep red buds closed tight.
You stop at the closest bush,
Taking in its beauty.
You reach up to caress a bud and as your fingers gently touch it,
The bud blooms and faces you.
The sun grows brighter and as its light connects with the rose,
Does the light of the sun connect with you and your spirit.
Each time you take a breath and exhale,
The light speaks to the part of you that is depressed.
The light speaks to the part of you that is impatient,
To the part of you that doesn't feel like you're on a stable foundation,
To the part of you that has lost its healthy connection to others.
The light says,
Let go of what is no longer needed.
Let go of what is no longer needed.
Let go of what is no longer needed.
Let go of what is no longer needed.
Named,
Unnamed,
Known,
Unknown.
You feel energy within you shift as spirit discharges the lower tensor negative energy and allows the higher,
Lighter,
Positive energy to fill in,
Nourish and heal.
You are grounded.
You are safe.
You belong.
You are connected with others in a healthy way.
You are supported and guided as you make a living to take care of your needs.
Be all you are capable of being.
Guide your drive to care for and nourish yourself.
Receive massages,
Hugs,
Go for a walk,
Sit on the ground,
Anything that resonates with you and your highest good.
May all this or something better manifest itself for you in totally harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned.
May all this or something better manifest itself for you in totally harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned.
May all this or something better manifest itself for you in totally harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned.
May all this or something better manifest itself for you in totally harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned.
So be it.
So it is.
When you are ready,
Thank the Rose for being a source of support as it closes its bud.
Pull your roots from the center of the earth,
From the warmth,
From the underground rivers,
From pebbles,
Through the ground underneath you,
Through the floor beneath your feet.
And may the light of your crown close,
But always know you are guided and protected.
Always know you are doing the best you can.
Thank the universe,
Thank the heavens,
And thank the earth for this time of reflection of the root chakra.
Namaste.
