Please do not drive or operate machinery while listening to this meditation.
Sit or lie down where you will not be disturbed.
Take this time for yourself to be kind to yourself.
There's nowhere else you have to be right now.
There's nothing else you have to do.
To begin,
You're going to take four belly breaths.
Breathe in.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Inhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Last time.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Imagine roots emerging from the base of your spine and the bottoms of your feet.
Imagine them going through the floor,
Into the earth,
Into the soft ground,
Around pebbles and underground rivers,
Deep into the earth,
Deep into the dark,
Warm,
Rich earth.
May that part of you connect with the spirit of the earth to ground and protect you as you do this meditation.
And when you're ready,
Open up the top of your head to open up your crown to the heavens,
And let the light of the universe flow in through the top of your head,
Down past your eyes,
Past your throat,
To connect with your heart,
Down to your solar plexus,
Into your sacral,
Into your root chakra.
And may the energy from the earth come up through your root,
Through your feet,
Up to your root,
Through the sacral,
To connect with your heart and meld there and connect.
And may this joining of the light speak to the part of you that feels frustration at putting others before yourself,
That speaks to the part of you that feels burned out at not making time for yourself,
That speaks to the part of you that is inconsistent with making you first,
The part that speaks to you that is angry,
The part that feels drained,
That feels frazzled,
That feels disconnected.
May the light of the universe and the earth combined turn that energy into loving,
Healing energy,
The kind of loving,
Healing energy that says you are doing the best you can.
You are a kind and loving person,
And all you need to do is shift your view of care to the self first,
So that you can return to your spiritual practice,
So you can return to a time of loving yourself,
Return to a time of making more time for you,
So that you are better able to make time for others,
Making a time of mindfulness,
Of staying calm,
Valuing yourself again.
You're doing the best you can.
You have always done the best you could.
Always remember that.
Always place yourself first so that you can be there for others.
Believe in yourself.
Say to yourself,
I believe in me.
In order for me to take care of others,
I need to take care of myself first.
In order to care of others,
I must take care of myself first.
I am doing the best I can.
Making time for you includes yoga or meditation or taking naps,
Anything that resonates you,
That serves you in your highest good.
When you're ready,
Thank the heavens,
Thank the universe and the earth for this time of reflection and self-care.
And when you're ready,
Pull back the tendrils of the roots from the center of the earth,
From the warmth,
Through the underground rivers,
From around pebbles and underground rivers.
Retreat back through the ground hard earth through the floor.
And may the light in your crown close,
But always know you are guided and protected.
Always know that you are doing the best you can.
May all this,
Or something better manifest itself for you in totally harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned.
So be it.
So it is.
