Welcome to Wonder Bowl.

How are you doing?

This is day 8 where we're keeping you company and helping you use the time to develop a new mindfulness habit that will lower your stress and boost your immunity.

Mindfulness works to change the structure of the brain so that you spend less time ruminating on negative emotions and are more able to let things go.

Today we're going to turn another everyday activity into a mindfulness opportunity.

It takes most kitchen jugs around 110 seconds to boil.

You might be tempted to leave,

Do something else,

Come back.

Or you'll stand here impatiently stewing on a problem or planning something in the future.

Instead,

Let's use this 110 seconds to reset.

That's plenty of time to do that.

You ready?

Press the button and then take stock for a second.

How are you?

What's running through your mind?

What emotions can you feel?

Now focus in on your breath.

Experience what it feels like to be breathing.

Just breathing.

If your mind want to gently,

Kindly bring it back.

Now widen your focus to your whole body.

Scan it for attention.

Breathe in to your whole body.

And now make that awareness even wider to the whole kitchen.

You're back.

How do you feel?

Congratulate yourself for using this time so well.

And enjoy your cuppa.

One day at a time.

Thanks for being here.
