Good morning.

To begin this meditation,

You can start by sitting comfortably or simply laying down and relaxing.

Take a deep breath in and let it out.

As you go about your day,

You may notice that your practice gets further and further away from your awareness.

The mind goes on autopilot for hours on end and this can sometimes result in feelings of anxiety or stress or rapid thinking.

You can always use this practice of stilling the mind to help settle yourself back into calmness,

Back into awareness.

When you're focused and relaxed,

You're more productive and better able to attend to what really matters to you.

Stop what you are doing and set aside seven to 10 minutes to practice this.

Notice how this feels in your mind.

If thoughts about chores or to-do lists or the future come in,

Just notice that they're present.

Utilize the breath to help relax your body and as you inhale,

Invite in relaxation.

And with the exhale,

Allow the muscles in your body to relax.

Recognize that although the mind may not always do what you want it to,

It is the mind that allows you to experience joy,

Happiness,

And gratitude.

Bring to mind a few phrases of love and kindness with the intention of building a gentle relationship with your thoughts.

You can use the phrase,

May my mind be at ease or even may I be at ease with my mind.

Continue repeating this phrase,

Directing them towards your mind.

Try to hear the words in your head and connect with the meaning of each word.

And if your mind wanders off,

Just simply notice it and gently bring it back.

Continue repeating these phrases until the time is up.

Remember to be gentle.

No forcing or straining is needed to concentrate.

May you be present,

May you be peaceful,

And may you be gentle on yourself today.

Namaste.
