This meditation practice guides you through the layers of being, or the koshas: physical body, breath, mind, intellect, and connection to the divine. The practice is best for those ready to take their conscious expansion to the next level and ask the primordial question: "Who am I?". Not recommended for those experiencing trauma that is not otherwise supported through therapy or holistic healing.

Transcript

The journey through the subtle body involves multiple layers of your being.

In this meditation,

We'll travel through those layers,

From the most superficial to the most transcendent.

We'll take a journey through the physical body,

Through your emotions,

Your mind,

Your intellect or understanding,

And finally into your full spiritual bliss or awareness.

These layers are otherwise known as the Koshas in the ancient texts.

To dive deep into this meditation requires a deep understanding of yourself,

A willingness to explore yourself from a different perspective,

And an ability to be okay with understanding that you are a deeply complex,

Multifaceted,

And multilayered being.

If at any moment this meditation feels too complex for you because of where you are right now or any other factor,

Take a moment to step away,

To come back to your breath,

To feel grounded and supported in the moment that you're in,

And then rejoin us in this meditation when you feel ready.

There's no good or bad,

There's no right or wrong,

It's simply your awareness and your experience.

Let's begin.

I suggest coming to a comfortable seat.

You may also perform this meditation lying down.

Whatever feels best to you and allows you to settle in and go into this deeply transcendent journey in a way that works for you.

Wherever you are,

Take a nice deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

Again,

Breathing in and breathing out.

One more time,

Inhale and let it go.

Take a moment to feel the skin on your body,

To feel the skin in touch with the surface below or the clothing.

Feel your skin radiate energy.

Notice the waters around your skin,

The blood flowing through the surface below,

The muscles,

The tendons,

The adipose or fat tissue distributed throughout the body to protect you,

The bones and the ligaments,

The nervous system and the nerve endings coursing throughout your entire body,

The reproductive tissue.

Notice all the physical layers of your being.

Notice the trillions of cells throughout your entire body.

Notice you as a physical manifestation in this universe.

And then begin to notice the air that travels throughout the whole of your physical being,

The breath,

The exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body,

Distributed by the lungs and expelled by the lungs.

Notice how that oxygen fills the space between your cells.

Notice how when you inhale,

The breath rises.

And when you exhale,

The breath releases.

Notice the breath is both a physical and the subtle layer of your body.

Feel the breath draw into the tissues of your brain.

And then allow the breath work to connect you to your mind space.

Notice the thoughts streaming through you.

Notice the connections that are created in your mind.

Notice how thoughts come and go with seemingly no control.

And then allow those thoughts to connect you to a deep awareness and intelligence.

A sense of knowing perceiving.

Who are you?

Why are you here?

What is your purpose?

How are you showing up?

What do you want?

What are you attached to?

What can you let go of?

What lives in your heart space?

Letting go of all the thought patterns,

The beliefs,

The values and the connections.

Noticing the karmas of your past and of your present.

Noticing the patterns that you've carried with you perhaps from previous lives and throughout this life.

What do these patterns have to teach you?

What is the deep knowing,

Seeing,

Feeling and understanding that you have come here to fully absorb?

To become one with?

In this life?

What will you let go of?

What gifts will you share?

Who are you?

Who are you?

Who are you?

Let go of your past patterns.

The future is right now.

Everything you are and everything you need is right here in this moment.

There is no better.

There is only now.

Notice the thoughts in your head.

The breath filling your lungs and the sensations on your skin.

Come back to the now as a rooted grounded physical breath body,

Mind body,

Intellect body,

And bliss awareness being.

Connect all of those layers to find your transcendence to become whole again.
