Welcome to this jaw relaxation visualization.
Just take some time to get grounded and settled in this moment.
Slowing down your breathing.
Breathing into the belly.
And becoming aware of your body.
Dropping your focus and awareness into your body and away from your thoughts.
If thoughts are here,
You can simply acknowledge them.
No different to your heart beating.
It's just your brain,
Your mind if you like,
Doing its job.
But really focusing on grounding in this moment.
Feeling how your body starts to relax.
Now imagine that you are walking up a mountain.
A beautiful hike.
Your body is relaxed and you are taking in the scenery and fresh air all around you.
There is only you and nature.
Only nature and you.
As there is more of an incline going up the mountain.
You start to become more conscious of the weight,
Of the heaviness,
Of the baggage that you are carrying with you.
And I'm not talking about your backpack.
Become aware what it is that you are carrying with you that you don't need to be carrying with you.
Any excess that is no longer serving any real purpose in your life.
Maybe it once had an important purpose in your life.
To keep you safe.
To make you feel loved.
Whatever it may be.
So thanking it for all it's done,
Even if it has overstayed.
And specifically tuning into your jaw.
What excess weight are you carrying with you in your jaw?
Can you sense the liberation that is beneath all of this?
When you acknowledge what is here,
Maybe thank it or just say hello.
Can you sense how that opens up a space?
It might just be a tiny crack.
Or maybe it's something more substantial.
Everything is just your experience.
So it's perfect right now.
We're not trying to create anything,
Match any standards,
Reach any goals.
We're just observing what is here as we climb up this beautiful mountain.
Step by step.
Noticing if there is anything.
Noticing if there is anything that no longer needs to stay.
Nothing needs to be pushed away.
But maybe there is something.
Something that is ready to let go.
As you breathe deeply and slowly,
Using your breath as a tool for grounding and releasing.
Particularly to what is in your jaw.
And of course,
The jaw does not exist in isolation.
What is in your neck?
Your shoulders?
Your eyes?
Your face?
Breathing in this beautiful fresh air all around you.
And feeling held by this stable ground beneath your feet.
You start to get closer and closer to the top of the mountain.
You're starting to be extremely aware of everything that is going on within you.
Somehow this environment is really supporting you in that and allowing for this inner exploration.
Very gentle,
Non-judgmental and almost childlike.
With a degree of wonder and playfulness.
And not taking anything too serious.
As you reach the top of the mountain,
The views are absolutely breathtaking.
Far reaching views.
What do you see here?
As you start to feel an intense sense of joy for being alive.
In awe at what is around you.
What is going on within you.
Everything so perfectly orchestrated.
Everything connected.
Feel the love of this force that holds everything together.
That is now truly bubbling and spreading in your jaw.
Washing away anything that was contracted and felt so small.
Felt like it had to protect itself.
But looking out onto this open space,
You feel how this contractedness in the jaw also opens up.
A true openness within to your inner landscape.
Feeling free.
Feeling powerful.
Feeling safe.
And feeling loved.
You pull out a little mirror from your pocket and you look at yourself.
As you are beaming with joy and relaxation.
What a gift it is to be alive.
And that our body carries us through this life as a vessel for experiencing all of this beauty.
Even if from time to time life is incredibly difficult and just makes us want to clench,
Contract and hide away.
Or maybe even attack.
All of this teaches us.
All of this makes us grow.
And if we're able to learn and release,
There's nothing in our way.
This love that holds everything together can then truly express through us in however much space opens up.
And this is really a process.
So take some time now,
Maybe another two minutes or so,
Just to be with yourself.
Particularly tuning into your jaw if you like.
Or whatever feels right for you right now.
Slowly bringing attention back into your body.
Into the room or wherever you are.
And when you're ready,
Just remembering if there's anything that you'd like to take with you before you open your eyes and come back.
