Welcome to this jaw relaxation meditation and I'm sure you're here to start to release some of the tension in your jaw that may have built up from stress,
From grinding,
From clenching and I'm sure you'll be relieved to know that with the power of your conscious awareness and with your breath you can start to release some of this built up tension.
So breathing slowly through your nose in a natural rhythm,
Just start to get grounded here wherever you are.
Feel how in the in-breath you're taking in relaxation and on the out-breath you're releasing tension.
Do this for your entire body.
Now let's focus in on the jaw.
As you breathe in,
You breathe in relaxation and as you breathe out you release tension.
With every exhale your jaw gets more relaxed.
Truly tapping into the power of this release.
This is a very liberating technique.
And the goal is not to remove all tension from the jaw because a little bit of tension in the jaw that feels good is important for your jaw to function.
Tension was created as a response to the way that you were living and you are now consciously choosing to let go of this tension that you don't need.
Want to keep just enough tension in the jaw so it can function perfectly.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Now focus your attention on your throat.
Focus on the sensations that are here.
Don't think about your throat but bring your awareness to your throat.
Imagine that your throat is filled with the colour blue.
Your throat stands for inner wisdom,
For your ability to communicate clearly,
For expressing your needs and for speaking your truths.
As you rest your awareness,
Breathe balance into your throat.
Balancing all these important functions.
Knowing that as you balance your throat you will have more access to your inner wisdom.
You will more clearly express your needs and speak your truths.
You will be more of who you truly are.
Just truly connecting with your throat and bringing awareness to it.
Balancing the energy here in your throat.
Now let's move on to your neck.
Breathe relaxation into your neck and breathe out tension.
Now moving on to your shoulders,
Breathing in relaxation and breathing out tension.
Knowing that when you relax your neck and when you relax your shoulders you are also relaxing your jaw.
When you are relaxing your jaw you are also relaxing your neck and your shoulders.
You can't see them in isolation.
They are one system.
Now finally bring awareness to your eyeballs and bring relaxation to your eyes on the in breath and let go of tension on the out breath.
Know how good it feels to finally give your eyes the attention and relaxation they deserve.
They have to work so hard when you work on your device and you over strain them.
But in this moment you are giving them your pure awareness and bringing balance back into your eyes.
See if you can sense a connection between your eyes and your jaw and know that when you relax your eyes you relax your jaw and when you relax your jaw you relax your eyes.
Now return to breathing slowly and naturally as you are resting here.
Knowing that you have given yourself holistic self love today in this session.
Check in with your jaw.
How is it feeling now?
Is there still any tension that you would like to let go of?
You can do that now by breathing in balance into your jaw and letting go of any tensions that are ready for you to let go of.
Now slowly bring your awareness back into this room wherever you are and when you are ready open your eyes.
