Find the rhythm of your breath.
Feel its soft currents of air moving in and out of your center.
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Just a little slower with each breath,
Allowing the gentle cadence to calm you.
Let your inhale sink deeper,
And your exhale linger longer,
Drawing in and then letting go.
Ease your body,
Calm your mind,
Nourish your spirit with every cycle of breath,
The thoughts that beckon you,
Commanding your attention,
Listing the tasks undone,
The worries of what may come,
And the emotions swirling within,
They strive to keep you alert,
To dim your inner light.
So return to your breath,
Even more intentionally this time,
For it will rescue you from your thoughts,
It will guide you inward,
To the serene space where your true essence dwells.
It will hush the thought,
One by one,
And bring you home.
So breathe deeply here tonight,
Into the center of you,
And let your body completely surrender to your bed,
All those thoughts,
All those worries,
All of those emotions,
Gather them up as you breathe in,
And as you breathe out,
Picture each one as a beautiful sky lantern,
Drifting into the vast night sky.
Each time a thought emerges,
See it as another sky lantern in your grasp,
A light of energy glowing within,
Aiming to brighten your path,
Simply smile gently as you lift your arms and softly release it into the night,
Watch your thoughts illuminate the sky,
Like fireflies in the darkness,
The sky lanterns float and glide,
And then their lights gradually fade,
Each thought dissipates and vanishes,
As you are here,
Breathing deeply,
They drift away into the night sky,
Leaving you free,
Unburdened,
And ready for deep sleep.
