I tell my kids all the time that the best thing that they could do when their body is sick is rest and sleep.
Did you know that when you're sleeping,
Your entire immune system goes to work repairing and fixing everything in the body?
So I hope tonight's sleep meditation can help you when you are feeling under the weather so you can get the rest your body needs.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,
Feel the tension of the day begin to slip away.
There's nothing left to do,
Nothing to hold on to right now.
This is your time to rest.
To give your body the care and comfort it needs.
Let yourself settle in.
Let your mind quiet.
And allow yourself to soften into the peace of this moment.
And notice the surface beneath you,
Supporting you fully,
Allowing your body to relax,
To release any tightness or discomfort.
And let your shoulders drop.
Let your arms grow heavy.
Let your belly soften.
Feel your legs begin to soften.
Your feet resting in the stillness,
As your legs part gently and relax.
Everything is quiet now.
Everything is calm.
You are safe.
You are here.
Surrender to the night.
As you breathe,
Notice the gentle rhythm of your breath,
Calming you.
Soothing you.
And allow your body to sink deeper into this rest.
