This guided meditation is intended to help you to relax,
To soften,
To soothe,
To drift into sleep.
Sometimes the harder we try to sleep,
The more elusive that sleep becomes,
The more difficult it is to switch off,
To settle in and to drift.
So in this guided meditation there's nothing to do,
Nowhere to be,
Nothing to worry about,
No one needing anything of you.
Just your time to relax and I'm going to be guiding you through a full body relaxation,
To drift.
So I'd like you to start by just noticing your breath,
Closing down your eyes if they're not already closed and just noticing perhaps the texture,
The temperature,
The pace,
Intensity of your breath as it travels in and out through your nostrils.
Perhaps noticing,
Although the breath is coming in through both nostrils,
Perhaps noticing a little more on the left nostril as that breath fills up the entire left hand side of your body and just outside your body.
Your awareness,
Your attention now to the right nostril,
As the air breathes in through the right nostril,
Filling up the wholeness now back to both nostrils and just notice if that breath has softened and I'd like you to breathe in and hold that breath at the top for the count of 2 and just do that counting in your own head and when it feels complete just exhale to release that breath and continue to take those long,
Slow,
Comfortable breaths and just noticing and as you notice that relaxation,
So you may notice a little softening,
Soothing,
Perhaps you notice with every breath a wave of relaxation or a golden light,
Healing energy,
Liquid love,
Whatever resonates with you,
Traveling as a wave of relaxation coming in from the top of your head and I'd like you to take your attention and just notice that relaxation beginning in your feet and if you don't feel that in your feet right away,
Don't worry about it,
Though it will soon catch up with you and perhaps that relaxation has started somewhere else in your body,
Allow that relaxation to travel from your feet up and into your calves and shins,
Lower legs,
Hamstrings,
Large and small muscles of your legs release and softening,
Soothing,
Becoming heavier and just allow that relaxation to travel into your hips,
Pelvis,
Buttocks,
Soothing,
Releasing and relaxing and feel that relaxation traveling up into your back release softening drifting to a serene,
Tranquil,
Peaceful state and allow that relaxation to travel around to your stomach,
The muscles,
Organs,
Nerve cells,
Fibers of your stomach,
Back,
Torso,
Softening,
Soothing,
Releasing and just notice that relaxation traveling up into your shoulders and feel your shoulders release and feel that relaxation traveling down your arms to your elbows from your elbows down your forearms to your wrists and just imagine,
Visualize,
Feel any tension,
Stresses,
Strains,
Any worries just drift out of your body and allow that relaxation to travel into your heart drip out through the ends of your fingers,
Just allowing any stresses,
Strains,
Tensions and tightness to be released,
To drip out through the ends of your fingers,
Just dissipating and disappearing drowsy drifting down through all the layers of relaxation drifting,
Drowsy,
Dreaming and just allow that relaxation to travel up into your neck large and small muscles of your neck notice and allow relaxation to travel up the back of your head and allow that relaxation to travel down your face to your forehead,
Your eyebrows and into your eyes all the tiny muscles around the eyes,
Release and softening,
Soothing,
Travel down your face,
Cheekbones,
Cheeks,
Jaw and if your jaw is clenched,
Just unclench that jaw into your lips and you'll notice when you're physically relaxed,
You're mentally relaxed as well and your body is ready to drift safe,
Serene,
Soothed,
Relaxing,
Rejuvenating,
Replenished,
Restorative wonderful state of relaxation and rest organs,
Nerves,
Cells,
Fibres of the body every part of you,
Nourished,
Restorative,
Rejuvenating and as you feel yourself just drifting through all the layers of relaxation just let yourself go let yourself release now to release to sleep peaceful pleasant sensations soothing,
