Hello my friends,
This is Kalyani,
And I invite you to join me for a short and sweet,
Powerful break from your day.
Each mindful minutes practice is a soft landing.
A gentle reorientation.
A way of remembering yourself in the midst of the chaos of everyday life.
Bringing peace to your mind and ease to your body.
As we regulate our nervous system in small,
Bite-sized practices,
You deserve this time to feel better.
Today's topic is Cultivating Abundance Through Gratitude.
Take a few long,
Slow breaths as together we push the pause button on our day.
Gaze down towards your lap,
Or if it's comfortable,
Inviting the eyes to close gently for just a few moments.
It's not uncommon to look around and feel like everyone else is prospering.
You may feel as if you're constantly bombarded with the amazing highlight reels of how successful others are around you.
Not seeing the years of practice,
Failures,
And heartbreaks it took them to get there.
And never really knowing what the picture behind the scenes looks like in reality.
When we don't feel successful in our own right,
We may feel resentment.
We may think that we don't measure up.
Like we are somehow not enough.
We cultivate a mindset of scarcity.
Feeling as if others' success is taking away from our ability to succeed.
But how does that feel in your body when you think that way?
Notice for a minute what happened to your breath.
How does your chest feel?
Is it tight and restricted?
When we think in this way,
We stop the flow of energy.
We keep ourselves separate from all of our many blessings.
Think about this for a moment.
Are you grateful for the gift of your breath?
The ability to breathe is something most of us take for granted.
But to someone struggling to breathe,
Your easy breath would be a blessing.
Are you grateful for the ability to get up and move around?
To someone struggling with injury or disease,
Stuck in a hospital bed or a wheelchair,
That ability to move around would feel amazing,
Like answered prayer.
Together,
Let's make the shift right here,
Right now.
Shifting away from our scarcity-based perspective.
The need to scratch and fight for crumbs.
Releasing fear and limitation to a deep knowing that opportunities and resources are plentiful.
There is more than enough for everyone to thrive.
How do we do that?
Through gratitude.
As the quote from William Arthur Ward says,
Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings,
Turn routine jobs into joy,
And change ordinary opportunities into blessings.
Gratitude is a force.
Actively acknowledging what you have right now in this moment shifts your focus from lack to plenty.
Remembering that what we focus on multiplies,
So why would we ever focus on lack?
By focusing on our current blessings,
It allows us to celebrate wholeheartedly the success of others.
Believing that there is enough for everyone to succeed.
The more we embody gratitude,
The more abundance recognizes us.
The dam is broken open and energy can flow once more.
When we feel abundant,
We give more of our time and energy.
When we act with generosity,
We signal the universe that we have enough to give.
And therefore,
We attract even more.
Surround yourself with positivity.
The people around you can influence your mindset.
Start to notice the quality of your conversations.
Cultivating mindful communication.
Allowing everything that you speak to first pass through three gates.
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
Being responsible for the words and the energy you send out into the world around you.
Finally,
Change all thoughts of lack into abundant intentions.
When that little voice within says,
I need more money,
Change it to,
I have all the skills necessary to increase my earnings.
This subtle shift alerts the universe that you are ready to receive.
Come back to your breath now.
Allowing your breath to find its own comfortable rhythm and pace.
Feel yourself filled with gratitude.
Sending gratitude into your body and mind for the ability to pause the busyness of your day.
For this brief moment of awareness where you can cultivate abundance once more.
Grateful for this reminder to return to the breath whenever life overwhelms.
Stay positive and make today a great day,
My friends.
