Hello,
This is Julie Scahn and I invite you to get settled into your most comfortable position.
Please lie down if you're getting ready for sleep or whatever brings you the most peace and comfort at this time.
This meditation is what I do each night before I fall asleep.
I find that taking time to reflect on what I am grateful for,
Even parts of the day that I've already forgotten about,
Puts a refreshing lens on the day and allows me to fall asleep even more peacefully.
And I hope it does the same for you.
So together,
Let's go in.
I'm going to count you into this meditation to the count of 10.
One,
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Two,
Take a beautiful deep inhale and feel your belly rise with your air.
Three,
Slowly exhale.
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
Feel your body embrace this rest.
Eight,
Allow your thoughts to drift away.
Nine,
Just be right here,
Right now.
And ten,
Embrace total relaxation.
As you listen to my voice,
Imagine a white light starting to glow at your toes,
Slowly making its way up your body.
As it moves,
It is touching every part of you,
Healing anything that needs healing,
Relieving tension where it is being held,
Filling your body with ease and comfort.
Imagine this light flowing from your feet up through your calves,
Your knees,
Your thighs,
Your hips,
Your pelvis,
Your abdomen,
Your lower back.
Allow this light to touch your ribs and fill your lungs.
Gently glide up your upper back.
Relieve your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your jaw.
Feel your cheeks and your forehead rest.
And let this light touch the very top of your head.
Imagine that you are now surrounded and being held in this white light of comfort.
As you feel the peace that this brings,
Answer these questions in your mind,
Slowly,
One at a time.
I will give you space between each.
And as you do,
Allow the answers to just drift into your mind and then let them go.
Here's the first.
Today,
What are some moments that you are grateful that you had?
Today,
With whom are you grateful for?
What are some words of gratitude that you can say to yourself right now?
What are some words of gratitude that you can say to yourself right now?
For the next minute or so,
Simply repeat in your mind or whisper out loud to yourself,
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for meditating with me.
Rest well and sweet dreams.
