Meditation is this really beautiful,
Simple practice of simply bringing your thoughts,
Your awareness into yourself,
Into your breath,
Witnessing the thoughts that come up in your mind,
Placing no judgment on it,
And then gently bringing your awareness back into yourself,
Into your breath.
So this practice today is simply called mindful beginning.
I'm going to guide you in and then you will have a few minutes all to yourself to simply do just that.
Just notice how you're feeling,
Pay attention to your breath as your thoughts wander,
Be gentle on yourself,
And just bring your attention once again back into your breath.
So let's go in.
Find a nice,
Quiet,
And comfortable place to be.
Take some nice,
Slow,
Gentle breaths.
As you do witness what you are feeling,
Notice the thoughts that you are having,
And become aware of the sensations that you are experiencing.
Be gentle with yourself.
Place no judgment.
Just be right here,
Right now,
Is enough.
Start to come back into this moment,
Witnessing your breath one more time.
Send yourself some gratitude for taking a few minutes to simply witness your thoughts,
To let them go,
To place no judgment on yourself,
And then to come back into your breath and your body once again.
This is meditation.
Pema Chodron said,
In meditation you take an unbiased approach.
You let things be as they are without judgment,
And in that way you yourself learn to be.
