Welcome to this meditation on accessing your own intuition through working with your future self.
This is a nice meditation to come to when you're feeling lost or confused or facing a decision and don't know which way to go.
Let's take some time to explore what your future self may have to say about your life situation now.
Take a moment to get comfortable for your meditation.
You can do this any way you like,
But I'd recommend sitting in a quiet place and lighting a candle if you have one.
If you like to write down your reflections,
Feel free to have a journal or a paper and pen at the ready.
Move your body if you need to fidget and settle.
Check in with your breath.
Acknowledge the land that you are on right now and your relationship with this land.
Imagine a circle of protection around you.
You could imagine a circle of chalk,
Stones,
Salt,
Or maybe a quality of light in the color that resonates with you right now.
Clarify that only energies that are in alignment with the highest good may enter the circle.
Now take some time to consider whatever it is that's going on with you right now.
Are you at a crossroads,
Considering two possible future paths?
Do you simply want to know if you are on the right life path,
Even if you're not sure what you do differently?
Sit with your questions or feelings for a moment and allow yourself to be right where you are right now.
Now let's invite a future version of you into this circle.
Let's imagine a you that's far beyond this question.
This version of you could be in retirement,
Maybe even at the end of your life.
And without thinking too much about it,
Imagine that this version of you enters the circle,
Sits with you.
Across from you,
Seeing you exactly as you are right now.
What do you notice about this older version of you?
What do they look like?
About how old are they?
What is their mood,
Their energy?
When you're ready,
Tell them whatever it is you'd like them to know,
Or maybe ask them a question or two.
Take a little time to communicate with this future self.
And then sit quietly and listen.
Let this older version of you reflect on where you are now,
And what advice they might want to give to you about your situation.
You may simply be listening,
Or you may have some back and forth,
More questions to ask them,
More answers to hear,
And so on.
Open to the conversation.
I'm going to give you a few minutes to do this,
But if you need more time,
Feel free to pause and take longer so that this conversation can feel as complete as it needs to be.
When this feels complete for you,
Take a moment to sit with this future version of you,
To rest in all that's been said,
Seen,
Felt,
Communicated.
Thank this version of you for being here with you,
And for you.
Thank the circle,
The land,
And your own intuition for being with you in this moment.
The circle is closed,
But never broken.
