So settling in,
Noticing the body posture,
Bringing awareness to the breath,
Bringing awareness to the entire body,
Bringing awareness to the entire body,
Bringing awareness to the entire body,
To just sitting here,
Breathing,
Being.
And for this meditation,
Using an image of something in the natural world,
That's a good example of something that's really good at just sitting,
Just being,
The image of a mountain.
So taking a moment to bring to mind a mountain.
Maybe it's a mountain that you know,
You know very well,
You've visited.
Maybe it's a mountain you've seen in a picture or a movie,
Documentary.
Or maybe it's just the image of a mountain that comes from your imagination.
Letting that image of the mountain get clearer and clearer,
So that you can really see the mountain in front of you.
You can see how massive it is,
How rooted and grounded it is.
It is part of the ground.
Noticing if it has a single peak or multiple peaks,
How steep the slopes are,
If there are trees,
Trees,
Trees,
Trees,
Trees,
Trees,
Trees.
How steep the slopes are,
If there are trees or vegetation,
Animals,
Paths on this mountain.
And letting that mountain be a teacher.
What are some of the qualities of this mountain that speak to you?
Maybe how solid it is or how massive,
Maybe how still or patient,
Maybe how majestic and dignified.
And gradually bringing those qualities of this mountain to your own posture.
So slowly becoming a mountain.
And noticing how your posture may shift slightly as you embody these qualities for yourself.
Becoming a living,
Breathing mountain.
So we're just sitting here,
We're not going anywhere.
And like the mountain,
We're subjected to changes in the weather patterns.
In this case it's the weather patterns of our own thoughts,
Our own emotions,
Our own body sensations.
So getting a sense of the weather.
Getting a sense of the weather.
How are you?
Are there any storms in the mind or emotional storms?
Dark clouds of thoughts?
Perhaps there's bright fluffy clouds in your own mind,
In your own body.
It's pleasant.
Perhaps there's no clouds and there's a sense of spaciousness.
Wide open blue sky.
So just checking in,
Getting a sense as to the weather patterns in your own experience.
Noticing that just like the weather,
Our own thoughts and emotions and sensations change from moment to moment.
Mostly out of our control.
But one thing's for sure is that it just keeps changing.
Noticing the impermanence of your own experience,
How it changes,
How it fluctuates.
Noticing the impermanence of your own experience,
How it changes,
How it fluctuates.
Noticing the impermanence of your own experience,
How it changes,
How it fluctuates.
Noticing the impermanence of your own experience,
How it changes,
How it fluctuates.
And recognizing that a mountain doesn't care if it snows or if it's sunny or if it rains or if people come to visit it or not.
It just remains itself,
Remains a mountain.
So getting a sense of your own mountain,
Your own grounded still presence.
This awareness,
This conscious human being that can observe the changing patterns of your experience.
Being aware of who notices all these changes.
That that awareness is always here,
Unshakable.
.
Here you are sitting here,
Watching your changing experience.
So taking the last minute or so to continue sitting here as this unshakable mountain.
