When I entered the picture, The picture changed, And the picture keeps on changing. We're all going through our individual journey, As well as our journey together. We're figuring each other out as we try to figure ourselves out. I put care and intention into both. I look at what my season of growing and evolving looks like, And I also lean into my strengths. What am I good at? What am I great at? And how can I fit that into my role as a stepparent? I am a stepparent. I am adjusting and adapting to this role. I'm figuring out what's okay, What's too much, And what still needs more time. I am a stepparent. This is unfamiliar territory to navigate. My role matters. I look at what this season of growing and evolving looks like for my family right now. I honor the complexity of a blended family. Step-by-step, Moment-by-moment, I'm building a loving, Safe, And supportive foundation. I show up. I show up with love, Patience, And respect. I create opportunities for a deeper connection. I am building trust. I'm celebrating the wins. I honor space for everyone's feelings. I care. And I carry the role of stepparent with light. And with a listening ear.
