Today,
We are going to focus on our journey.
On our chakras.
This meditation will introduce you to all seven chakras in a gentle and relaxing manner.
Sit or lie comfortably with your back straight,
Hands by your sides and relax your shoulders.
And when you feel comfortable with this,
Close your eyes.
Begin by taking a few deep breaths.
Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
And as you inhale through the nose,
Gently push your abdomen out.
And as you exhale through the mouth,
Allow your abdomen to fall and pull gently in.
So as we begin,
Imagine the roots of a tree coming up from deep in the ground to meet the soles of your feet.
Become aware of your feet and the roots becoming as one.
Keeping you grounded and connected first with the earth and from there with the universe.
Take another deep breath.
So now let your awareness begin to move slowly up through your body.
From your feet,
Past your ankles,
Calves and your knees.
And then upwards along your thighs and up to the base of your spine,
The tailbone and your lower abdomen area.
Here is your first chakra.
This chakra embodies the urge for survival,
Your basic fight or flight instinct.
Its colour is a rich and vibrant red.
So now imagine a red rose in the morning light.
Visualise the petals opening.
Appreciate its beautiful perfume scent.
Taking deep even breaths as you enjoy its life affirming energy.
As you now move away from the rose,
Allow your focus to move on up the body to your pelvis or sacral area just below the navel.
This is where your second chakra is located.
This chakra represents the pursuit of pleasure.
And its colour is a warm and vibrant orange.
So now visualise a carnation in full bloom.
Take a few moments to fill your senses with its warm spicy scent.
Take this deep into yourself as you breathe evenly,
Your abdomen rising and falling gently.
If you find your mind wandering then simply focus back on the colour orange.
We continue travelling up through the body to our third chakra in the solar plexus area just above the navel.
This chakra represents the drive for power.
The associated colour is yellow,
A bright and powerful yellow.
So imagine yourself strolling upon a beach with the sun warming your skin,
Your face and the golden sand beneath your feet as you walk along.
With the sun warmed water washing gently over your toes.
Visualise yourself walking on this beautiful golden sandy beach.
Stay with this and breathe as you feel this warm power also within you.
Let's continue slowly up through the body to our fourth chakra,
The heart centre.
Where we store so many of our emotions.
This chakra represents the quest for love and the colours are pink and green.
So imagine the sound of grass rustling in the breeze as you walk barefoot and feel the coolness on your feet.
So cleansing to our senses.
If you find you have any niggling thoughts in your head,
Bring those thoughts down into your heart.
As your heart has the capacity to soften any stressful thoughts and allows these to flow.
To open up and to allow love to come through and clear decisions can melt away any worries and thoughts that bother us sometimes.
In fact the longest journey any of us will take in life is the journey from listening to our head to trusting our heart.
Bring your attention now back to your breathing.
And as your awareness continues up through your body.
To your neck.
And to your throat area.
This is our fifth chakra.
The voice of creative expression.
And the colour of this chakra is blue.
Finding your voice can be difficult for many of us.
Sometimes a coughing sensation is an indication that your feelings are being blocked.
And you are reminded of the need to give them a voice in a gentle and assertive manner.
Visualise the dark blue waters of the deep oceans.
Or the warm aquamarine waters of the tropical seas flowing through this chakra into you,
Removing all obstacles to self expression.
Inhale the refreshing and invigorating scent of the ocean.
Let it clear your throat,
Allowing you to say easily what needs to be said.
Now move on upwards past your chin.
Your lips.
And to the bridge of your nose.
Where you reach your sixth chakra.
Your third eye.
This represents the desire for transcendence.
And its colour is purple.
It embodies your hunger to experience the magic and meaning of life.
And for allowing your imagination to run free.
Be it in inspirational bliss.
Or all forms of escapism.
This also reflects our intuitive side.
And how you can honour your feelings and thoughts by following your inner voice as it gently guides you into decision making.
Take a few deep breaths.
It is in these moments between breaths that meaning and inspiration can be revealed to us.
As you continue on your journey.
To your seventh chakra.
Which is located at the crown of your head.
This chakra represents our surrender to spirituality.
Our higher self.
And a wisdom greater than ourselves.
Its colour is a clear white light.
Visualise a sphere of clear white light.
Surrounding your body.
From your head to your toes.
Protecting your energy.
Take a few deep breaths as you visualise this gentle but all encompassing sphere of white light.
You surrender your spirit to this high power.
To allow yourself to be divinely guided.
And to clearly hear your inner voice.
As you continue on your pathway of self awakening and true purpose.
All seven chakras are now open and flowing abundantly through you.
And when they are all open you are fully balanced.
And conducting your life in a calm and reflective manner.
That honours who you truly are.
This is the true purpose in all our daily lives.
Stay with this thought for a little while.
Taking a few deep breaths.
The time has now come to close your chakras.
Moving steadily and mindfully downwards.
From the crown of your head.
Then to the third eye.
At the bridge of your nose.
Closing the chakras as you go.
Then moving through your throat chakra.
And continuing to your heart centre.
Then your solar plexus above the navel.
Your sacral below the navel.
And then the root chakra.
From there let your awareness continue on downwards.
Now moving past your thighs.
Knees.
Lower legs.
Ankles.
Tips of your toes.
Until finally the soles of your feet.
As they begin to release and unwind from the roots of the tree.
Leaving you feeling refreshed,
Powerful and grounded.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
