I hope you enjoyed your inner journey.
Being mindful of our chakra energy field can teach us so much about ourselves and how we respond to outside situations and people.
In a given situation we can practice mindfulness by taking a step back,
Using a mantra and asking ourselves how does this make me feel.
We immediately bring our awareness to our physical symptoms.
The following example highlights the root chakra being overstimulated and how the majority of us react in a given situation.
We have left work late and our car won't start.
Our immediate thought is to become angry and irritated.
Our body reacts to this thought by breathing more rapidly.
Heart rate increases,
Hands become clenched and tense,
Eyes twitch,
A trembling feeling throughout the body and so on.
These physical symptoms are connected to our fight or flight instinct,
Our root chakra at the base of our spine and the colour being red.
In order to reduce our response to a more acceptable level that conserves our energy and is beneficial to our wellbeing,
We need to learn and practice breathing techniques as explained to you at the beginning of the meditation.
In this moment counting to ten slowly and saying the word breathe can help reduce our symptoms to normal.
Then you can think clearly on how to deal with this situation more positively.
