Good evening everyone,
Welcome to this sleep meditation designed to help you let go of your day,
Preparing your mind,
Body and spirit for a restful and calm sleep.
So,
Before we begin,
Find a place where you feel safe,
Warm and comfortable,
Wherever that place is for you.
Ensure any notifications on your device are switched off,
Allowing you to have this time to recharge.
Close your eyes and notice your breathing.
Let's give gratitude to the unearned gift of our existence in this very moment.
If you have any worries that you recognise in this moment,
See them as a current reality and this can change.
Very often,
The anticipation of the trouble it's causing is more painful than the actual reality itself.
The good news is things do change,
The good,
The bad and the uncertainty.
So let's take time now to put this aside and say goodbye to this day,
Giving ourselves permission to let go.
Let's start now by taking a nice deep breath,
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
And as you inhale through the nose,
Gently lift and expand your abdomen.
And as you exhale through the mouth,
Allow your abdomen to drop and gently pull in,
Becoming aware of any tension that you are holding in this moment and through your body.
Trusting that this meditation is going to help you let go of the tension and that you can feel renewed and energised.
As you begin to settle into this meditation,
Let's become aware of your thoughts.
Imagine them as clouds in the sky,
Passing by.
And as the clouds gently drift away,
The sky becomes crystal clear,
Revealing a beautiful blue colour,
Helping you to dissolve your thoughts.
Take a nice deep life-giving breath,
Settling into the place where you are lying and allowing the earth to hold you,
Trusting that it can hold you and feeling a sense of gratitude for yourself in this present moment and the life that you have,
The body and mind that you have and the skills that you have.
Loving yourself a bit more than perhaps you did yesterday,
Enveloping yourself in love and gratitude.
Breathing in,
Saying,
I am breathing in.
Breathing out,
Repeating,
I'm breathing out.
And finding this easy,
Easy to drop into our body and bringing your focus on the breath.
In and out,
And taking a huge sigh,
Releasing any further tension from the body.
Not asking where it came from,
As in this moment you simply don't care.
Allowing you to go deeper into relaxation.
Allow the music to take you on a journey,
An inner peace journey and calm,
Encouraging you to let go,
Just for this moment.
And as you start to feel more and more relaxed,
Willing to let go,
Giving yourself permission to let go.
As you synchronise your breathing with the music,
Consciously being aware of your breathing and how your body feels,
You become open to putting everything aside,
So that you can take care of your needs in this moment.
Everything can wait.
And as you spend a little time now,
Listening to the music and my voice,
Drifting further and further into inner peace,
Bringing your attention back to the breath,
Over and over.
And bringing yourself back into the present moment,
Becoming more in tune with yourself.
You evoke a sense of stillness and calmness within.
And as you begin to sink into a slumberland of unconditional love for yourself,
Reminding yourself that the deep stillness we seek,
It doesn't arise because the world stays still,
Or the mind is quiet.
Stillness is nourished and rejuvenated when we take the time to take care of ourselves,
Allowing things to be just as they are,
Breath by breath and moment by moment.
As this sleep meditation comes to a close,
I really hope and trust it has prepared you to be more in tune with yourself,
Your needs,
And feeling a sense of kindness for who you are,
And gratitude towards yourself,
And how so much better you feel now.
I'm ready for the evening,
And for a deep,
Peaceful,
And meaningful sleep.
So I say goodnight to you.
