You Patience is a powerful practice.

When you learn patience,

You learn to really be alive.

Patience allows you to be present and to relax into life as it is.

So be intimate with this moment.

Come into presence with a live attention.

Focus in on the most subtle aspects of what you are experiencing.

Patiently notice all that's here.

Be aware of thoughts that drift in and out,

Having patience with them.

Just allow them to be part of this moment.

Come even more deeply into presence now by putting your attention on your breath and the physical sensations of breathing.

Be with your breath knowing that the next breath will come.

Just patiently observing your pattern of breathing.

Watching the natural breath.

Patience on the inhale.

Patience on the exhale.

Patience brings a relaxation and maybe you can feel that.

And as you continue to breathe in your own natural rhythm,

Be curious about your own responses to being patient and how it feels in your physicality,

How it feels in your body.

So breathe again and feel into the energy of patience.

Be curious about how patience feels as you wait for the next breath to come.

Is patience calm and quiet for you?

Just breathe and observe.

Or does patience have a more lively energy or any discomfort?

Can you be patient with yourself however you're feeling right now?

You may have a very natural sense that you want to move to the next moment.

You may want to move on and move forward.

The mind often pulls us to the next moment which cuts us off from our experience of life right now and from the beauty of life as it is.

So to learn patience you need to be aware of impatience and be conscious of it which gives you the choice about how you respond to it.

At this moment you may be feeling an urge to do something else or for this meditation to be over.

Just notice that.

Be aware of that impatience and how it feels.

Go deeply into the sensations of impatience in your body.

And remember that everything unfolds in its own time and impatience can cause you to miss life.

Patience gives you the permission to take time and the space to simply be.

And it allows you to live without attachment to any particular outcome.

And you may miss things or spoil them by trying to make things happen too quickly.

So be present with your body now and the subtle sensations.

Can you bring a sense of patience to your body?

Patently noticing areas of comfort.

Having patience with discomfort or tension.

And can you patiently allow the experience of your body to be as it is?

Tune into your emotions now.

Take a little time to be conscious and aware of them.

Don't push them away.

Don't go into any story about them.

Just feel them.

Emotions have a message for you and if you sit with them patiently you'll hear that message.

And all emotions pass eventually so can you patiently nurture yourself through them?

Patently waiting until you are not in a reactive space and you can act with wisdom and calmness.

Breathe into your heart now in the centre of your chest.

Bring this sense of patience to yourself.

Trusting in your own journey.

That you are exactly where you were meant to be.

Patently meeting each moment helps you make the most of your life journey.

Even the difficult times are rich and hold opportunity for growth and meaning.

And if you are patient you can tune into that.

Can you be patient when you feel impulsive?

Can you stop and be present with the sensations that are driving that impulse?

Feeling the energy of wanting to act,

Wanting to resolve something,

Wanting to cause a reaction.

And can you breathe into that impulsivity and the energy of it?

The strong feeling of it.

With patience you can breathe through the impulse until it passes.

Be patient with yourself even when you are impatient.

Be patient with your impatience.

Not judging impatience but learning about it as part of you.

And can you bring the same level of presence and awareness to your experience of others?

Be aware of someone you need to have patience with and hold them in presence for a moment.

Can you be patient with your own impatience around that person?

Remember that they have their own path and their own story.

They are learning what they need to learn just as you are.

And can you hold patience in knowing that any wisdom or answers or actions you need to take around that other person will come?

Be patient with yourself however you feel about that person without judgement.

And this presence,

This loving awareness will shift the energy in you which can cause a shift in the outer situation.

So just be aware of the power of patience.

Just being with those ideas a little longer.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.

Patiently bringing your awareness back to your breath now.

Feeling the gentle movement of your body as you breathe in and out.

Reconnecting to a sense of patience before you go about your day.

So feeling the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.

And starting to bring some movement to your body.

And slowly starting to open your eyes when you're ready and when it feels like the right moment for you.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.

And just being with those ideas a little longer.
