Please be seated with a straight spine.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes.
Place one hand over your heart and the other over your belly.
Arriving here in this moment,
Feel the body rise and fall to the rhythm of the breath.
We will be repeating the Pali Mantra BUDDHO.
B-U-D-D-H-O.
The meaning of BUDDHO is the one who knows,
The one who is awake,
The one who is joyful.
These words remind me of the heart in its most natural and open state.
The heart is knowing,
It is awake,
It is joyful.
So as we repeat BUDDHO,
I invite you to speak the mantra from your heart.
Feel the mantra nourish and energize your heart.
I invite you to rest your hands on your lap now.
Silently,
We will repeat this mantra to the rhythm of our breath.
Inhale BU,
Exhale DO.
Inhale BU,
Exhale DO.
In BU,
Out DO.
Continue to repeat this mantra on your own at a pace that's comfortable for you.
When the mind wanders,
Gently shift your focus back to the mantra.
It's time to release the mantra now.
I invite you to place both hands over the heart and feel your heart beating.
Your heart is knowing.
Your heart is awake.
Your heart is joyful.
When you're ready,
Slowly begin to open the eyes.
