So often we take our body for granted.
There are times when we neglect our body,
Shame it,
Judge it,
Abuse it.
Yet your body always chooses you and supports you unconditionally.
In this meditation we'll connect with each part of our body and send loving thanks to our only constant home in this physical life.
Whether you're seated or lying down,
Begin to relax into your meditation posture.
Close your eyes and breathe comfortably in and out through the nose.
Place both of your hands over your heart space and be fully present with all the sensations you feel in this moment.
The beating of your heart,
The warmth of your hands spreading into your heart space,
The rise and fall of your chest,
Keeping your hands over your heart.
I invite you to repeat after me,
Thank you body,
Thank you for protecting me,
Thank you for supporting me,
Thank you for your unconditional love,
Thank you for being my home.
Take a moment to experience this moment,
To express any other words that you want to share with your body right now.
Now place your hands on your thighs or beside you if you're lying down,
With both palms facing upwards.
Relax the hands and let's begin our loving body scan.
I call out each body part,
Send your awareness there and really feel into that area with love and gratitude.
Thank you eyes,
Thank you nose,
Thank you ears,
Thank you mouth.
Send love to your entire face,
Send love to your head,
Send gratitude to your throat and your shoulders.
Thank you arms,
Thank you wrists,
Thank you hands and fingers.
Send love and gratitude to your chest,
Your rib cage and your upper back.
Thank you heart,
Thank you lungs,
Thank you stomach and digestive system.
Send love to your belly and your lower back.
Send love to your reproductive organs,
Your pelvis,
Hips and buttocks.
Thank you thighs,
Thank you knees,
Thank you calves,
Thank you ankles.
Send love and gratitude to your feet.
Now place one hand over your heart space and the other over your belly.
Notice how comforting it feels to hold yourself with your own hands.
On your next inhale,
Breathe in love deep into every cell of your body and exhale with gratitude for this beautiful home.
Repeat this two more times,
Inhaling love and exhaling gratitude.
Before we come to an end,
I invite you to give yourself a hug in whatever way that feels comfortable for you.
Begin to wrap your arms around your body,
Your waist,
Back,
Shoulders,
Arms.
You can also move your hands and gently stroke your body.
Rest your head and relax into your own embrace.
