The chakra system originates from ancient India. In Sanskrit, 'cakra' (pronounced 'cha-kraa) means 'wheel/circle' and it refers to the energy centers along the body's astral spine. Various chakra systems are found in Hinduism and Buddhism. This meditation relates to the 7 chakra system.
