My name is Yelena.
Welcome to the meditation called Meet Yourself As You Are.
Self-love,
Self-acceptance and self-compassion do not come so easily to a lot of people.
It takes willingness and an open heart to look at everything about ourselves and meet it all as it is in each moment.
So today,
During this practice,
Try to stay present and open to the experience as we look into various aspects of what we call self.
Meet everything that comes up with the same attitude of a loving and compassionate observer.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position for this meditation.
You can sit on the floor,
Cushion or chair.
Straighten your back,
Relax your shoulders.
Soften your face.
Take two deep slow breaths and exhale slowly to relax your body even further.
Close your eyes.
Think about all the things at this moment that you are and all the things that you feel you are not.
Meet them all with openness and acceptance.
Go through the labels you have for yourself through judgments.
Simply observe them and allow them to come and go.
Think about everything you have in your life and all those things you feel you do not have and meet it all with an open heart and loving presence.
Think about everything that your life is and everything that your life isn't at this moment.
Open your heart for everything that arises and meet it with compassion and kindness.
All the joy,
Hope,
Kindness,
Respect that you give or receive,
That you feel or that you lack,
Meet all of that openly and lovingly.
And meet in the same way all the sorrow,
Anger,
Disappointment,
Fear,
Worry that you carry,
That you encounter in yourself or in other people or in the world.
Open yourself and your heart for compassion and kindness,
For all the beauty and all the joy of life,
As well as for all the mess,
Heaviness,
Chaos that life brings.
Because one doesn't exist without the other.
Do not run away from difficult feelings and experiences.
Simply open up,
Accept and give them love.
Meet with openness and love and kindness your body in all its perfection and imperfection.
Your home,
Your family,
Your friends,
Your living conditions.
Take a few moments to add your own things to this list.
Who are you beneath and beyond everything that you can observe about yourself?
We are approaching the end of today's practice.
Bring your attention back to your body and to your surroundings.
Simply wiggle your toes and fingers and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
