Hello and welcome.
I'm Jelena.
Thank you for being here with me.
On our life path,
We are all bound to encounter discomfort,
Pain and suffering.
As Buddha said,
Suffering is.
It is universal.
May it be natural,
Like getting old,
Sick or being hurt in any way,
Or a construct of our mind,
Our reactiveness,
Anger,
Anxiety,
Depression,
Or it could just be general uneasiness of life.
Instead of hiding from discomfort,
Pushing it away or putting rose-tinted glasses on it,
We can choose to sit with it,
Observe it,
Listen to it.
So,
If you're ready,
Sit back and join me for this ride.
Call your energy back to the present moment.
Your physical,
Emotional and mental energy.
Call it back.
Sit with your energy as it is for a little bit.
Don't try to change it.
Force it in any way.
Just let it be.
Now,
When you're ready,
Call in your discomfort,
Your pain or suffering,
Whatever it is that you're going through at the moment that is unpleasant or difficult for you.
Call it all in.
Notice it in your breath.
Notice that discomfort in your body.
Notice it also in your thoughts and feelings.
Sit with that pain,
With that difficult feeling,
With that discomfort patiently.
Look at it.
Don't judge it.
Don't label it.
Don't argue with it.
Sit with it calmly and observe.
There's no need to change it,
To push it away or hide from it.
Allow it to be there.
And allow it to show you and tell you what it wants.
Are you maybe afraid that you'll be overwhelmed by the discomfort?
You can also sit with that fear,
Look at that fear and look at that sense of being overwhelmed.
Whatever the discomfort pushes up to the surface,
You may choose to sit with it and look at it and observe it.
You are always safe.
Now notice that you are not that pain,
That suffering.
Notice how you can observe it.
Notice how the suffering becomes an object in your mind.
You can choose to just let it be.
In observation,
There is a distance between you and suffering,
Between you and pain.
Notice a much deeper sense of inner well-being present in that space.
Sit with that feeling.
As you slowly open your eyes and finish this meditation,
Reflect on this practice.
Notice,
Did the discomfort change or stay the same?
Did you notice thoughts or feelings brought up by it?
Did your discomfort have any kind of message for you?
How is your energy now compared to the beginning?
Can you accept and surrender to whatever it is in this moment?
