Welcome to this guided meditation.

As you sit or lie comfortably allow yourself to settle into this moment.

There's nothing you need to do right now except relax and let go.

Notice how your body feels against the surface beneath you and if you have not done so already gently close your eyes.

Take a deep easy breath in and as you slowly exhale feel your body beginning to relax.

With each breath you can allow yourself to drift deeper into a state of calm and ease.

And you may find that as you continue to breathe your mind starts to slow down.

Moments may come and go and that's perfectly okay.

You can simply observe them like clouds passing through the sky knowing that they'll eventually drift away leaving your mind clear and open.

And as you listen to the sound of my voice you may notice that certain words stand out to you while others seem to fade into the background.

It's interesting isn't it how your mind can focus on one thing and yet allow other things to simply melt away like snowflakes on a warm surface.

And as you relax more and more you might find yourself wondering which part of your mind is really listening.

Perhaps it's your conscious mind taking in the words,

Analysing,

Thinking or maybe it's your subconscious mind.

That deep powerful part of you that understands and remembers everything even when you're not fully aware of it.

Your subconscious mind is always working for you,

Quietly in the background,

Guiding,

Protecting and helping you.

And it knows exactly what you need to feel calm and comfortable and at ease.

And so right now your subconscious mind is beginning to take over,

Allowing your conscious mind to rest and to relax and to simply let go.

And so you might begin to wonder or maybe you've already started to notice how easy it is to simply drift,

To let your thoughts wander or not.

To let go of trying to follow and just allow your mind to float like a boat on calm waters.

And as you do and as you drift you may feel a growing sense of relaxation.

A deepening comfort spreading through your body.

It's as if a gentle wave of calm is washing over you.

Soothing every muscle,

Every nerve,

Every thought until you find yourself sinking deeper into a state of peaceful,

Effortless relaxation.

And you don't have to think about how or why this is happening.

Your subconscious mind already knows what to do.

All you need to do is to continue to relax.

To let go and allow yourself to be carried deeper into this calm,

Peaceful state.

Knowing that each word,

Each breath is guiding you exactly where you need to be.

And as you continue to drift deeper into this state of relaxation you may notice that your mind begins to create a picture.

A place where you feel completely calm and at ease.

This place may start to form in your imagination.

A peaceful scene where you can fully relax and let go.

Perhaps you can already see it or perhaps it's just beginning to take shape right now.

Either way your subconscious mind is gently guiding you to a place where comfort and calm surround you.

And so I'd like you to imagine yourself standing by the edge of a beautiful,

Serene lake.

The water is calm and still.

Like a perfect mirror reflecting the sky above.

And you can notice how clear and tranquil the lake is.

Its surface smooth and undisturbed.

As you gaze out over the lake you begin to feel the soothing presence of this peaceful place.

The air is fresh and you can hear the gentle sounds of nature all around you.

The soft rustle of leaves in the trees.

The distant call of a bird.

The faint whisper of the breeze across the water.

Take a deep,

Easy breath in.

Inhaling this sense of calm and serenity.

And as you exhale feel yourself becoming even more relaxed.

More connected to the peace of this beautiful lake.

Now I want you to imagine yourself stepping into a small,

Sturdy boat that is gently rocking on the water's edge.

This boat feels solid and secure beneath you.

And as you settle into it,

You notice how the gentle sway of the boat brings an immediate sense of comfort.

The wood of the boat is smooth and warm to the touch.

And you feel completely safe and supported.

Knowing that this boat is here to carry you to a place of deep calm and comfort.

As you sit in the boat,

You feel a connection with it.

A sense of trust that this boat knows exactly how to guide you across the water.

Effortlessly.

Smoothly.

Just as your mind knows how to guide you to a state of deep,

Healing relaxation.

And so you feel that boat beginning to move.

Gently gliding across the surface of the lake.

The water is so clear and still that you can see the soft ripples fanning out from the boat.

Each one spreading wider and wider.

Until they disappear completely.

Leaving the surface smooth and undisturbed once again.

With each gentle stroke,

The boat glides further out into the lake.

And as it does,

You start to notice that any sensations of discomfort or nausea you may have been feeling start to soften and fade.

Just like the ripples on the water.

The gentle motion of the boat is soothing.

Carrying away any discomfort,

Any unease.

Leaving you feeling lighter,

Calmer and more at peace.

Now as the boat continues to drift,

You find yourself effortlessly gliding towards the center of the lake.

Here the water is at its deepest and calmest.

With each gentle movement,

The boat seems to know exactly where to take you.

Guiding you to the very heart of this tranquil lake.

As the boat drifts to a stop,

You know that you have arrived at the perfect spot.

The place where the water is at its most calm.

And you decide to drop the anchor.

And as you do,

You watch it descend through the clear,

Cool water.

Moving slowly,

Deeper and deeper.

The water seems to part effortlessly as the anchor sinks.

And with each moment,

You can feel yourself becoming more grounded,

More steady,

More secure.

The anchor continues its descent,

Moving ever closer to the bottom of the lake.

You can imagine it now nearing the lake bed.

And as it finally touches the soft,

Stable sand beneath,

You feel a subtle,

Reassuring connection.

The anchor finds its place,

Settling into the sand.

And with it,

Your boat gently comes to a stop.

There is no more drifting,

No more movement,

Just perfect stillness.

The boat is perfectly balanced,

Perfectly steady.

And you are anchored in the deepest,

Calmest part of the lake.

Now as you sit here,

Anchored in the heart of this serene lake,

You begin to notice just how incredibly peaceful and quiet it is.

The surface of the water is so still,

So smooth,

That it almost seems like a mirror,

Reflecting the calm,

Clear sky above.

You can feel the quiet all around you.

A soothing silence that wraps itself around you like a soft,

Warm blanket.

It's as though the entire lake is holding you in a protective embrace,

Sheltering you from any discomfort or unease.

Creating a safe haven of peace just for you.

Any waves of nausea or discomfort that once disturbed you are now merely distant memories.

Like faint ripples on the surface of the water,

Slowly fading away into nothingness.

You can see those ripples growing smaller and smaller,

Weaker and weaker,

Until they disappear completely.

Leaving the water smooth and undisturbed.

They no longer have any power to disturb your peace.

For you are deeply anchored in the calm,

Steady depth of this lake.

With each breath you take,

You can feel this sense of calm growing stronger.

Filling your entire body with a soothing,

Healing energy.

You can feel this energy spreading throughout your entire being,

Reaching every muscle,

Every nerve,

Every cell.

Your stomach relaxing completely,

As if wrapped in a comforting,

Healing warmth.

Your mind becomes quiet,

Still,

Like the surface of the lake.

And your body feels light,

Free,

Unburdened by the discomfort that once held you.

As you sit here anchored in this deep,

Tranquil place,

You realize that this calmness,

Peace is not just in the lake.

It's within you.

Just like the lake,

You too have deep,

Calm depths within you.

An inner reservoir of peace and stability.

And so whenever you feel discomfort or nausea,

You can simply return to this place.

This serene lake within.

And allow yourself to become anchored once again in this profound state of calm.

And so,

Taking a few moments now to enjoy these feelings of deep relaxation and peace.

And so in a moment,

I will count you back up from 1 to 5.

When I reach the number 5,

You will open your eyes,

Becoming fully alert,

Refreshed and at ease and carrying this calm and grounded feeling with you.

1.

Starting now to become aware of the room around you.

2.

Feeling more awake and refreshed.

3.

Bringing your attention to your surroundings.

4.

Almost there,

Feeling calm,

Feeling steady.

And 5.

Open your eyes,

Taking a nice deep breath,

Feeling wonderful and calm and at peace.
