Welcome to this somatic awareness session where you'll focus on connecting with your body's signals fostering a sense of ease in your digestive system through gentle mindful awareness.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position or lying down and then gently close your eyes.
Take a few easy deep breaths.
Inhaling deeply and fully.
And exhaling slowly.
With each breath allow yourself to feel more and more grounded and present.
Letting go of any external distractions.
We'll start now by bringing your awareness to your feet.
Notice any sensations you feel in your toes,
The soles of your feet and your ankles.
And feel the connection of your feet to the ground beneath you providing a stable foundation.
Now move your attention slowly up your legs.
Notice any areas of tension or relaxation in your calves and thighs.
As you breathe in imagine sending warmth and relaxation to these areas.
And as you breathe out let go of any tension you find.
Allow it to find its way out of your body.
Now shift your focus to your hips and your lower abdomen.
This is the core of your digestive system.
Notice any sensations or feelings in this area.
With each inhale visualize soothing energy flowing into your abdomen.
And with each exhale imagine releasing any discomfort or tension.
Feel it melting away.
Now bring your awareness to your chest and upper abdomen.
Feel the rise and fall of your breath in this area.
Imagine your breath as a gentle wave.
Washing away any stress or tightness in your digestive organs.
Next focus on your back.
Starting from your lower back and moving up to your shoulders.
Notice any areas of tightness or tension.
As you breathe deeply visualize these muscles relaxing and softening creating more and more space for comfort and ease.
Now bring your attention to your arms,
Hands and fingers.
Notice any sensations and allow these areas to become comfortably heavy and relaxed.
Feel the release of any tension with each exhale.
Finally bring your awareness to your neck and face.
Notice any tightness in your jaw,
Around your eyes or in your forehead.
Allow these areas to soften and to relax.
Feeling a sense of calm spreading throughout your entire body.
With your entire body now more and more relaxed,
Take a moment to visualize your digestive system.
Picture it as a smooth harmonious system free from tension and discomfort.
Imagine your gut as a calm,
Peaceful environment.
Balanced and comfortable.
Continue to enjoy the stillness and calmness of this time for just a moment more.
