
Discover Your Next Right Step

Are you feeling stuck and confused? There are times in life when we can feel lost, unsure about which step to take next. Perhaps you feel like you’ve taken an unplanned detour in your life, and you’re unsure of how to get back onto the right path again? What step should you take next? And what’s stopping you from moving ahead? By quietening down the noise from your own thoughts, this meditation will help guide you out of confusion, and connect you back to the answers that are within you.

Welcome to this meditation.
I'd like you to simply just get comfortable either sitting somewhere or lying down where you won't be disturbed and when you're ready you can just allow those eyes to gently close and as you sit or lie here with your eyes closed I'd like you to take some slow deep breaths and as you take those slow deep breaths just notice how your body feels.
Notice if there are any areas of tension inside the body and as you mentally scan the body just starting to notice that your breathing has become slower.
Using the breath now as you inhale and as you exhale starting to feel any tension dissolving.
Feeling your whole body now becoming more and more relaxed.
Perhaps starting to feel as though you are sinking down just a little more in the surface underneath you.
And as you relax here in this meditation you may find that your mind begins to wander and that's okay.
Because it doesn't matter where you drift or where you go my voice will continue to travel with you at all times.
So there's no need to fight any unwanted thoughts.
You don't need to give them any attention right now.
You can just let them drift out of your mind just as easily as they came.
And just know that there is nothing here to disturb you.
Nothing to bother you.
Nowhere else where you need to be.
You can just relax back completely,
Happily and feeling completely safe.
And so as you continue to just relax I'd like you to allow all the tensions from the last few days and then the last few hours.
Any troubles or problems you can just let those go.
Just let them drift away and not bother you.
Feeling them drift away as they start to leave you and really feeling all that tightness and tension simply draining away.
And in its place a feeling of calm and relaxation at the very top of the head.
As it moves down around the face and the neck and the shoulders.
Letting those shoulders relax and feeling all that tension.
Any uncomfortable feelings just draining away.
As it draws down through the body now down through the chest and stomach muscles unwinding and knotting.
All letting go.
Just guiding that sense of relaxation down to those arms and legs and all the way out of you now.
Gone completely drained away and being replaced by a calm and gentle soothing relaxation.
And as you start to feel and allow yourself to relax more and more you may begin to feel lighter almost as if you are floating.
Floating all the way down into a wonderful place.
And I'd like you now to use the power of your imagination and imagine now that you are stepping down onto a path which winds its way through the middle of a beautiful forest.
The air is pure and slightly cool from the tall trees shading the sunlight but you feel comfortable and at ease.
As you walk along this path you become aware of the many different shades of green around you.
Soft earthy mossy green on the forest floor to the expansive green that has been kissed by the Sun on the trees above you.
The forest is friendly and protective and there are many beautiful wild woodland flowers on the forest floor.
Your senses have become alive and you notice the gentle earthiness grounding and nourishing you as you continue to step forward through the forest.
Nothing else matters right now just being here in this magical place.
You feel completely at ease so relaxed and so calm.
All that noise doubt and confusion that has been previously surrounding you can now fade into the background.
Allow that doubt and confusion to just fade away as you relax more in this safe and comfortable place.
In the distance you can now hear the sound of water flowing slowly and gently and the sound of that water is helping you to go even more deeply relaxed.
Feeling your muscles loosening more and more as you continue to let go.
Relaxing with the beautiful flowing sound of water and so out of curiosity you decide to follow the sound of the water.
You feel excited about where it is leading you.
Knowing deep within yourself that you are going to a very special place.
A place where you are going to create some positive,
Wonderful and long-lasting changes.
As you finally step out from beneath the trees and reach the lake you are greeted by the most beautiful vision you have ever seen.
A vast crystal blue expanse of water meets your eyes.
It fills your mind and fills your body with a wave of relaxation.
With each and every breath you take feeling more calm,
More peaceful and relaxed.
Letting go deeper and deeper.
And as you look around you notice a nearby rock just set back from the water's edge.
And this rock has been shaped over time by the elements to be smooth and in the shape of a chair.
Sitting down on that rock you find that it fits you perfectly and the warmth of the Sun has made the rock warm to the touch.
As you sit your gaze now softens across the view in front of you and you know that you are now ready to discover more about what has been blocking you from moving forwards in your life.
Helping you to gain clarity on your next right step.
And so in a few moments I will begin to count down from ten all the way down to one.
And with each number back you can find yourself becoming more and more relaxed and more and more open.
And when I guide you all the way down to one I will start asking your subconscious mind a series of questions.
Questions that will guide you.
So here we go.
Ten.
Nine.
Deeper and deeper.
Eight.
Seven.
All the way down to six.
Feeling so calm.
Five.
Four.
Drifting off peacefully and easily.
Three and two.
All the way down deep down relaxed and one.
All the way down opening the subconscious mind now to new thoughts,
New ideas and new experiences.
And now as I ask your subconscious mind these questions remember not to force the answers to come.
Just allow them to bubble up like air bubbles trapped and allow to break free under crystal clear blue water.
Slowly rising drawn by the light.
Perhaps they'll come as a single word,
A thought or insight.
Or perhaps those insights will come up like a continuous stream of air being released.
Pockets of answers being revealed to you.
Coming up and into the light to be expressed.
And so take your time.
After each question I ask simply breathe into it.
Allow the question to dislodge the answer.
Clearing the mind and allowing the pockets of insights to be revealed to you.
Remembering that there is no right or wrong answer.
For they are all your answers and they are all waiting to bubble up to the surface to be discovered.
And so let us begin.
Thinking now about whatever has brought you to this meditation,
This session.
What do you believe is currently stopping or blocking you?
This could be a thought,
A belief,
A physical block or perhaps someone around you.
What do you believe is currently stopping or blocking you from moving forward?
The answer may not be what you expect.
The insights may be obvious to you or the answer may be something that was hidden from your view until now.
Second question.
What do you need to start to think or believe for you to move forwards?
What do you need to start to think or believe about yourself,
About the situation or about someone else for you to move forwards?
Just allow the insights to come.
Remembering not to force anything.
This could be simply one word,
One change to the beliefs that you've held about yourself or someone or a situation.
Just allow any insights or words,
Any images or sensations to come up for you.
And lastly,
What next step,
However small it may seem,
Can you take now?
What next step,
However small it may seem to you,
Can you take to move you forwards?
Remember just like pockets of air trapped underneath the surface of a great lake.
Your subconscious mind contains within it pockets of insights and wisdom waiting to be revealed to you.
They want to be revealed to you so just gently allow them to come up.
Because your subconscious mind is always on your side,
Always guiding you and always showing you the way.
It's with you always.
Trust it.
And so there is nothing now that you need to do.
By asking these questions change has already begun.
There's no need to think or even know the skills,
Strengths and resources.
Your subconscious is now choosing to utilize to guide you and to bring your life around to the way that you want it to be.
And so with every passing day you're going to feel that the answers and the clarity you seek are getting brighter and brighter,
Clearer and clearer.
And your subconscious mind is drawing on all your resources,
Perhaps at a conscious level.
Or you may be totally unaware but soon you'll have conviction that things are changing for you and your sense certain changes taking place.
How will you know the way forward?
Will it be that clarity comes in a dream that you remember?
Or will you forget the dream but find that you're gradually moving ahead in a direction that feels positive,
Balanced and full of joy?
Will the next step and the one after that come quickly while you're wide awake or in a moment of quiet contemplation?
You really don't know and you don't have to know but you can be confident when the next step presents itself.
Because every step you take now is moving you in the right direction,
In alignment.
And it's okay if those steps are very small or they are very big.
Because you will take the step that is right for you.
Each step is perfect.
Each decision and action you now take is perfect.
And moving you towards that which you seek,
That which you desire to change,
That which you are changing.
And so as you listen and relax even more you'll discover that changing is significantly less difficult than you ever imagined.
And there is nothing that you need to do.
You are now able to just know that everything is happening just as it should be in exactly the way you would like it to.
And so taking a nice deep breath in and as you take that nice deep breath in integrating all that you've learned,
All that you have gained and then just letting that breath go.
Knowing that deep inside all things are possible.
They can all happen and more than that they are already all happening.
And in a moment when you fully accept the wisdom that you have received you can come back to the room on a count of five.
One that feeling starting to return to the hands and feet moving all the way up those arms and legs now.
Two just allowing that feeling to move right up into the body as you come closer and closer to full awareness.
Three that energy moving up through the waist into the chest.
Four the energy flows up through your shoulders right up into the neck and the head so that you might even feel the skin on the face start to tingle.
And five all the way up to the surface now eyes open wide awake and fully aware.
