Hello,

My name is Jacinta and I'm honored to be here with you today.

There's a Mexican saying that goes like this,

La esperanza es lo ultimo que muere,

Which literally translates to,

Hope is the last thing that dies,

Which means there's always hope.

Even in the biggest moments of despair,

Moments of disappointment,

Sadness,

Pain,

And even suffering,

There's hope.

Whenever you're ready,

Make sure you're in a comfortable position and you can close your eyes if you feel safe.

Make sure your back is in a straight line,

Your shoulders are relaxed,

Unclench your jaw,

And if there's anything else that needs to be softened at this moment,

Go ahead.

Most of all,

Make sure your heart is open.

We're going to take three breaths.

I'll explain them and then we'll do them together.

We're going to inhale as deeply as we can through the nose.

We're going to hold for a few seconds at the top,

And then we're going to exhale slowly with the mouth.

Inhale through your nose,

Hold,

Exhale slowly through your mouth,

Inhale deeply through your nose,

Hold,

Exhale slowly through your mouth.

One more at your own pace,

At your own rhythm.

Now let's go back to your natural breathing,

Inhaling and exhaling through your nose without forcing anything.

You inhale into this present moment,

You exhale and let go of anything that happened before.

Keep inhaling and exhaling naturally through your nose.

Feel the ground beneath you,

Let it hold you and support you.

Start connecting to your breath with each inhalation and each exhalation.

As you connect to your breath,

Connect to yourself as well.

You're here because you have hope.

And I don't mean here at this exact moment meditating with me.

I mean wherever you are at life right now.

I don't know what you're going through,

But you made it this far.

I know it hasn't always been easy.

I know it's been hard,

But you're here.

You're alive and you're breathing.

Hope brought you here.

Maybe sometimes you only needed a small push,

Other times hope had to get down on the ground with you and help you get up.

Maybe you didn't see it for a while.

Maybe you thought you lost it at some point.

It was always there and it will always be there.

I want you to connect to that beautiful light inside of you called hope.

And just keep breathing,

Inhaling and exhaling.

And just be here.

Remember,

If your mind starts wondering,

It's okay.

Everything is okay.

Just come back to your breath.

You can accept those thoughts,

Observe them and let them go.

Use your breath as an anchor and come back to the present moment.

Deepen your breath little by little,

Inhaling a little bit deeper,

Exhaling a little bit deeper.

There is one thing that hope needs.

Hope needs action.

When we combine these two,

We can transform our lives.

Hope and action can change the world.

As I was reflecting on this,

I was thinking,

If hope is the last thing that dies or it never dies,

Then there isn't anything stronger than hope.

But then I realized that there is one thing stronger and it is when we hope together.

The only thing stronger than hope is hoping together.

As you keep deepening your breath,

Feel the ground underneath you again.

Listen to the music or any other sound around you.

Become aware of the sensations in your body.

And we'll take three breaths just like we did at the beginning.

Inhale deeply through the nose,

Hold,

Exhale slowly through the mouth.

Inhale deeply,

Hold,

Keep holding,

Exhale very slowly.

Do one more at your own pace.

Little by little,

You can start to come back to the present moment,

To your body,

To yourself.

Whenever you're ready,

Really slowly,

You can open your eyes.

Thank you for allowing me to be with you.

May you find hope.

May you find peace.

May you find hope.

May you be hope.

And may you share hope.
