Welcome to this meditation for releasing anxiety.
We're first going to focus on your breathing.
When you're feeling anxiety,
You're breathing very fast and your focus on your breathing is gone.
So I first want you to now inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
As if you're blowing out a candle.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Calmly breathe in and breathe out.
Blow out all the air.
Now that you're getting the oxygen you need,
Realize that your only job right now is to keep yourself as comfortable as possible while this feeling passes.
Do not fight your anxiety because this only makes it stronger.
Don't judge yourself for having anxiety.
Just say,
I'm feeling your anxiety but I'm okay.
I know this feeling will pass and it will not harm me.
I know that I'm safe even though I feel frightened.
I will soon be calm even though I'm experiencing anxiety right now.
I will get through this.
Breathe in and breathe out.
As you continue to breathe slowly in and exhale fully,
Repeat the calming thoughts,
You are safe.
This feeling shall pass.
I will not fight my anxiety.
I see you.
I feel you.
I'm okay.
Inhale and exhale.
Let go.
Inhale,
Calm,
Exhale.
Let's go.
Feel your body relaxing with every inhale you take and let go with every exhale.
Good job.
You're doing great.
And remember,
This feeling shall pass.
Focus on your breathing.
Get the oxygen you need to relax and feel calm.
