Welcome to this yoga nidra.

Yoga nidra for connection with Mother Earth.

Welcome yourself.

Lay yourself down onto the floor,

A bed,

Wherever you may be.

As you do,

Bring in tension with how you lay yourself.

Adjust your legs so that they are slightly open and the feet are turned out and relaxed.

Roll your shoulders underneath and lengthen them away from your ears.

Let your arms spread out wide and turn your palms up to face the sky in a receiving position.

And then lengthen through the back of your neck,

Slightly bringing your chin towards your chest.

Then take a moment in this stillness,

See how you are feeling here and ask yourself,

Do you need to adjust or are you ready to fall into deep relaxation?

Whatever your body is telling you,

Do what you need to feel at ease with lying in stillness.

You want to feel so comfortable that you don't want to move from this room or space that you have created.

You would be happy lying here for a long,

Long time,

Peacefully at ease.

As you lie here settling into your body,

Listen for any sounds around you.

What can you hear?

Gently move inwards and listen for any sounds coming from within you.

What can you hear?

What can you feel?

Bring your observation to your breath.

Use every sense in your body to become aware of your breath.

The sense of touch as this cool breath flows through your nose and down into your throat.

The sense of hearing as the breath whistles past your nostrils and moves into your lungs.

The sense of smell.

What can you smell?

What can you smell?

If your eyes aren't already closed,

Gently close them and let that be a signal to move inwards.

Use your internal sense to visualise and imagine your stomach rising and falling with every breath.

Every inhale and every exhale,

Just following one breath at a time.

Feel the fullness of your inhale and the softness of your exhale.

Stay with this visual and watch as your body and breath begin to fall into one.

Softening and slowing together.

Finding comfort in one another.

You are creating a safe and inviting place for your body to breathe with complete ease.

Let your body be restful in this space.

Feel the body slowly finding comfort.

Slowly letting go.

And slowly finding peace.

As we begin the practice of Yoga Nidra.

Become aware of all of the body parts that are in contact with the earth below you.

Work from the back of your head,

Down through the body to the heels of the feet.

Sense what it feels like to have the earth beneath you,

Fully supporting your whole body.

Can you let this knowing give way to even deeper letting go in the body?

We call the ground beneath us Mother Earth.

As you feel into the contact you have with Mother Earth,

Feel it with your skin and your bones.

And as I speak,

Gently whisper and repeat the words that I'm about to say.

Repeat them silently to yourself.

Whilst feeling Mother Earth's presence in you.

Repeat them silently to yourself.

Whilst feeling Mother Earth's support rising up through the earth.

Repeat.

I am supported.

I am growing.

I am nurtured.

I am breathed.

I am creative.

I am strong.

I am guided.

I am sensual.

I am worthy.

I am loved.

I am whole.

I am loved.

I am whole.

I am loved.

Listen to your heart as you repeat these words.

Do you feel your heartstrings pull at any certain word?

Was there a thought or emotion that came when you heard one of those words?

If any one word spoke to you,

Choose it as your sankalpa for this practice.

And repeat that one word three more times,

Quietly speaking it as if it is truthful in the deepest part of your heart.

This sankalpa is an intention from our hearts truest desire.

Speak it now.

I am.

When you connect with Mother Earth,

She shows us her presence through all of our senses.

We just have to be still and quiet enough to hear her.

I will guide you through a rotation of consciousness.

Guiding you with my voice,

I will say parts of the body.

And as the words vibrate around you,

Let your senses go deep,

Deep into that body part.

Bringing all your awareness into that part of you and that part alone.

Stay with me now.

You're doing great.

Bring your awareness to your right hand thumb.

Zoom in on your right hand thumb.

Nothing else but your right hand thumb.

Now shift to your second finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger and little finger.

Illuminate all five fingertips.

See it now.

Bring your awareness down into the palm of the hand.

Wrist.

Lower arm.

Elbow.

Shoulder.

Right side rib cage and lung.

Waist.

Right hip.

Inner right thigh.

Knee.

Lower leg.

Right ankle.

Heel of the foot.

Soul of the foot.

Top of the foot.

The big toe.

And all five toes.

Send light waves into all five toes.

All five toes lit up now.

Left hand thumb.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Fourth finger and little finger.

Visualise light coming from all five fingertips.

See it now.

Move down into the palm of the hand.

Wrist.

Lower arm.

Elbow.

Shoulder.

Left side rib cage and lung.

Waist.

Left hip.

Inner left thigh.

Knee.

Lower leg.

Ankle.

Heel of the left foot.

Soul of the foot.

Top of the foot.

Left big toe.

And all five toes.

See the light in all five tips of your toes.

Lit up and glowing now.

We will now move up through the back body.

Remembering once again that connection to the earth.

Right heel and your left heel.

Feel both heels together.

Feel the right calf and left calf.

Feel both calves together.

Back of the right thigh.

Back of the left thigh.

Feel both thighs together.

Right buttock.

Left buttock.

Both buttocks together.

Base of the spine.

Middle of the spine.

Right shoulder blade.

Left shoulder blade.

Back of the neck.

Back of the head.

Feel the whole entire spine together.

Become aware of the whole back body now.

The whole back body with the support from Mother Earth.

We now move to the front body.

From the top of your head.

Feel and soften into the forehead.

Right temple.

Left temple.

Soften both temples together.

Right eyebrow.

Left eyebrow.

Soften both eyebrows together.

Right eyeball.

Left eyeball.

Soften both eyeballs together.

Top of the nose.

And tip of the nose.

Feel and soften your whole nose.

Right cheekbone.

Left cheekbone.

Both cheekbones together.

Top lip.

Bottom lip.

Inside of the whole mouth.

Your tongue.

Teeth.

Feel and soften around your whole mouth.

Feel the chin.

Neck.

Center of your neck.

Move inwards to the throat.

Right collarbone.

Left collarbone.

Both collarbones together.

Right side of your chest.

Left side of your chest.

Move into the center of your chest.

Your heart.

Feel the space around your heart.

Move down into your belly.

Your pelvis.

Feel your pelvic floor.

Feel the whole front side of your body.

The whole front side now.

Let your senses go inward and feel your whole body.

Bring into sensation both of your legs.

Both of your arms.

Your whole upper body.

Neck,

Head and face.

So that you feel and are aware of your whole body.

Feel it with everything that you are.

Your whole body is alive and you sense this now.

Notice the aliveness of your body.

Feel it pulsating with your gentle breath.

Now begin to imagine a ripple effect from the center of your heart.

Creating pulses of breath that radiate through the body and out into the space around you.

The ripples getting bigger and softer as they reach the infinite space that surrounds your body.

You embrace the softness of your breath as your body begins to blend and yoke with the ripples.

Giving way to pure spaciousness and formlessness in the body.

You are pure space and awareness rippling through the infinite universe.

Now we explore pairs of opposites,

Emotional and mental.

Stay with my voice and listen a little closer.

Imagine the space around you is getting closer.

Feelings of tightness and no space begin to constrict through your body.

You take on this feeling of no space.

Transition and become aware of total spaciousness.

Infinite openness.

Space within and all around you.

Notice space all around you.

Feel what spaciousness feels like.

Release all and come back to your heart space.

Feel into those gentle ripples and soften here.

Now bring yourself into total darkness.

Invoke darkness that fills everything around you.

You feel darkness seep into your body,

Into every corner and every space.

Notice the emotions that come up with darkness.

Now flood your body with light.

Bright white light.

Let it flow into the darkness and illuminate everything.

Giving way to a stunning white light that's in and around your body.

Feel and become the light.

Release all and bring yourself back to those soft and spacious ripples in your heart.

Now activate the feeling of restlessness,

Buzzing and overactive.

Remember what it feels like to feel restless.

Feel into the sensations that brings to your body.

Now move into an overwhelming feeling of being grounded into the earth.

Feeling centered from your heart.

Still.

Held.

Supported.

How does that feel in your body?

Being grounded and supported.

Release and let yourself be guided back into the ripples of your heart.

Take a moment to feel and sense into the feeling of gratitude.

And when you find that gratitude,

Plant it deep into your heart.

We now will move into the creative intuitive wise body.

Where we will reconnect with our greater self.

Our higher self.

Mother Earth.

Bring yourself back,

Back in time to a place.

A place that's out in nature.

Outside.

This is maybe a place you visited on a holiday.

Like a beach,

A mountain or a valley.

Or maybe it's closer to home.

Your garden.

A place you visited often as a child.

What comes to mind?

What place that you have touched and experienced in nature has brought you deep in connection with Mother Earth herself?

And if a totally made up scene starts building in your imagination,

Then just go with it and let your creative intuitive side guide you.

Wherever you are visualising,

Familiar or not.

Really take the time to look around you and bring the whole scene to life.

What can you see?

Near and far.

What do you hear?

Feel?

What can you touch?

Any smells in the air?

Take it all in.

What can you remember about this place that takes you right back there with every part of your being?

Let your being fully immersed into the nature around you.

Feel yourself merging,

Blending into the vibration that comes from her.

Mother Earth.

Mother Earth is breathing and you can feel her as she takes you in under her undying support.

You come to realise that she,

Mother Earth,

Is fully alive in and around you.

Rippling throughout you,

Forever there guiding you through all states of flow.

Never is she still.

You can feel her.

She holds you,

Holding her hands around your heart,

Giving you all the strength and grace to flow freely in this life.

Never fearing the unknown,

But embracing it with an open and courageous heart.

The rippling nature around you is what brings you to stillness.

Enough that you can hear her whispers.

Enough that you feel her peace all throughout your being.

This moment of peace brings you back to your truest desire,

Your truest love for self and all life.

There is nothing else but you and love.

Love and you.

Can you let these two words become one?

Let this idea move throughout your body.

Let it flow wherever it wants to go.

And at this same time,

Begin to quietly whisper your sankalpa,

Your heart's truest desire for you right now.

Feel it as you whisper the words to yourself,

Knowing that you have everything you desire already within.

The unbounded support that you feel from Mother Earth brings reality to your desire.

She does not hold back or defy you.

Simply she listens and shows unconditional love.

A force that strengthens you through your skin,

Your bones,

Your mind and your soul.

Remember this feeling.

Call back a time and remember you have felt this before.

And you will feel it again.

Let this energy of remembrance bring back to life your body.

Slowly waking up your body to this,

This that it has always been.

Feel her support as you begin to awaken.

Breathe cool oxygen into your lungs,

Filling them as if they have found new capacity and space.

Wake up to yourself,

You that has always been there.

Wake up and feel what it is like to be you.

Feel all the gratitude for being you.

Take as much time as you need,

Stretching and making small movements.

And when you are ready,

Bring yourself to one side,

Finding comfort as you lay on your side,

Readying yourself to fully awaken.

You can make your way up to sit,

Keeping your eyes very gently closed.

Remaining with that softness rippling through your body,

Remembering your connection to Mother Earth.

It is always there.

Sit up a little bit taller and bring your hands to your heart.

Feel her,

Your heart.

Remember,

She is always there.

Very moving. At some point I felt really overwhelmed and sad and then couldn't go back to any sense of calm or feeling loved. I don't know if it's normal. I do remember though.
