It is the beginning of the school holidays and you are looking forward to some fun and adventure.
You are also looking forward to resting and relaxing and just chilling out.
Today you have no plans at all.
You are happy to just go with the flow and unwind from a busy school term.
Slowly you take a deep breath in.
Breathing in a sense of freedom throughout your whole body.
You don't have to be anywhere today or be on time for anything.
Now slowly exhale.
Letting go of any concerns or worries.
You can leave them all behind now.
Let's breathe in again.
Following your breath right down to your toes.
As you breathe out just let go and totally relax.
Sometimes life gets so so busy.
Rushing here,
There and everywhere.
Going to school,
Playing sports,
Doing activities,
Catching up with friends,
Chores,
Homework and so much more.
There is always so much to do.
It feels so great to slow down right now.
No expectations,
No routines and no timetables.
There is one thing you do know you would love to do today and that is write in your personal journal.
It always feels so freeing and positive to spend time doing this.
To reflect and write down all the things that are important to you.
All your special experiences and all your precious memories.
All your good times and sometimes your bad.
You take your journal that is covered in all your favourite colours and step outside.
It is a magical spring day.
The sun is beaming down.
Flowers are blooming from their buds.
A sense of lightness and joy fills the air.
You are taken by the sounds of the birds singing so merrily and happily.
You notice the most graceful and beautiful bird perched on a large stringy blue gum tree.
Something about this bird inspires you to stop and watch as it sits there.
You are so drawn to this majestic bird.
Its feathers are yellow and blue with flickers of green and purple through its tail.
You listen as it sings merrily to its chicks.
They are resting in their nest on the branch above.
You are filled with happiness and joy just to be here experiencing this.
Watching and listening.
Suddenly it spreads its wings and takes flight into the air.
Upward it goes.
Soaring higher and higher through the clear blue sky.
Flying through the gentle clouds effortlessly and confidently.
It doesn't have a care in the world.
Just swooping and gliding.
It is so calming to watch.
This magnificent bird with all its incredible qualities.
This beautiful bird is just so light and peaceful.
Now you watch as it glides back down smoothly and elegantly to be with its young chicks again.
And you begin to think about your own unique and positive qualities.
It feels really comforting and fun to do this.
You open up your journal and begin to write.
You realise like the beautiful bird you are so special.
You are important.
You matter.
You are so amazing.
Put your left hand on your heart now and connect with this feeling inside of you.
No one has your unique smile and laugh.
You are so kind.
Sprinkling kindness everywhere you go.
Begin to think about all the kind things you do for your friends and family.
See yourself doing something kind for someone you know.
It feels so good inside your heart and body.
You are so warm and friendly.
You are so good at making everyone around you feel great about themselves.
You know how to make people smile.
You are so generous.
Sharing ideas and your favourite things with others around you.
It feels so great to give.
See yourself right now sharing something special with someone you care for.
Feel their joy and gratitude.

Spreading and sharing love everywhere you go.
Like sunshine beaming out on a warm summer's day.
The more love you give,
The more love you receive back.
When you are loving,

The birds are resting.
