Just take a few moments to get really settled.
Find a comfy position,
Preferably seated with your back straight,
But you can lie down if that feels better for you.
And just allow your body to settle.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And a long breath out through your mouth.
Allow your shoulders to drop.
Unclench your jaw.
And let your body feel supported by the surface beneath you.
Welcome to this New Moon in Cancer guided meditation.
As always with a new moon.
This is a moment to pause.
To turn inwards.
And to reflect on what you want to call in.
Over this next lunar cycle and beyond.
New moons are often associated with fresh starts.
And intention setting.
But what I love most about the new moon is that it gives us a chance each month to slow down and really listen to ourselves.
To create a bit of space away from the noise,
The busyness and the constant doing.
And simply notice what is going on within us.
And this new moon in Cancer feels especially great for that.
Because this sign is deeply connected to home,
Nurturing.
Emotional safety.
And intuition.
So this moon asks us to gently check in with ourselves.
And notice what is really happening beneath the surface.
How are you actually feeling?
Where in life do you feel safe enough to soften?
And where might you be giving so much of yourself to others that you have stopped noticing your own needs?
We are also now moving into the second half of the year.
Which makes this feel like an extra powerful moment to pause and find some balance.
To take an honest look at where you are.
Without any judgment,
Without any pressure.
Not with the energy of needing to fix everything overnight.
But simply with awareness.
So bring your awareness back to the natural rhythm of your breath.
There is nothing to control here.
Just notice the breath moving in and out.
Steady,
Familiar.
Gently anchoring you into the present moment.
And with each breath,
Allow yourself to arrive a little more fully here.
I'm going to ask you now to imagine yourself standing by the sea at night.
The sky above you is dark and still.
The new moon cannot be seen.
You know it is there.
You feel it is there.
Even in darkness,
Its presence remains.
In front of you is the water.
Moving in a slow and steady rhythm as waves reach the shore and they gently pull back again.
Spend a moment simply noticing the movement of the sea.
The tide comes in.
And the tide moves out.
Nothing is forced.
Nothing stays exactly the same.
The water is constantly moving,
Shifting,
Responding.
Our emotional world can be exactly the same.
Some feelings come in gently.
Others arrive all at once.
Some pass quickly.
While others linger for longer than we would like.
But emotions like waves.
And not meant to stay frozen.
They are meant to move.
They are meant to be felt.
And as you stand by the water.
Gently bring to mind your own emotional landscape over the past few weeks.
What has been there for you Maybe there's been some stress or uncertainty.
Sadness,
Overwhelmed.
Exhaustion.
Perhaps there has also been joy,
Hope,
Relief,
Gratitude.
You don't need to analyse anything,
Just notice what has been present.
As the water moves around your feet.
Imagine the sea gently washing away some of the tension you have been carrying.
Not forcing anything to disappear,
Not trying to fix everything.
But softening.
Releasing a little bit of the holding,
A little bit of the bracing.
A little bit of the effort.
Cancer is symbolised by the crab.
And I think there is something really beautiful in that.
Because like the crab,
We all develop shells.
These protective layers that help us feel safe.
And sometimes those shells are necessary because they protect us when life feels hard or overwhelming.
But sometimes those same protective layers can become so familiar to us.
We even forget we are wearing them.
So as you stand here by the sea,
Noticing the water moving around your feet Ask yourself gently.
Where might I be protecting myself so much?
That I have stopped allowing softness in.
Where might I be staying guarded?
Even with myself.
Just notice what comes up.
There is no need to force clarity just stay curious Now bring one hand to your heart.
And just feel the warmth of your hand resting there.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest beneath your palm.
And let this simple gesture be a reminder that you are here with yourself.
That you can offer yourself presence,
Care and compassion.
And ask yourself.
What needs nurturing within me right now?
Maybe it's your body,
Your nervous system.
Your joy,
Your boundaries,
Your rest.
Maybe even your relationship with yourself.
Just notice what comes up.
And trust it.
Stay with that awareness for a few moments.
And allow yourself to really receive it.
This is your wisdom speaking.
This is the part of you that knows what needs your care.
Keeping your hand on your heart.
Silently repeat or you can say these out loud if that feels better for you.
I am allowed to soften.
I am allowed to feel.
I can nurture what matters.
And ask yourself one final time.
What am I being asked to nurture over this next lunar cycle?
And allow whatever comes to become your intention.
A quiet intention,
A promise to yourself.
And just complete this sentence silently in your heart.
Over the next lunar cycle.
I commit to nurturing.
Just let that settle,
Let it take root And remember that growth does not happen through force.
Growth happens when we create the right conditions,
With care,
With patience,
With consistency.
What needs to grow will grow.
I'm going to ask you to come out of the visualization now.
And simply bring your awareness back to your breath.
Noticing once again the steady rise and fall of your chest Notice the support beneath you,
The space around you.
And keep your hand on your heart for one moment longer if it is still there.
And just remember this.
Home is not just a place.
Home is also a feeling.
It is the feeling of safety,
Of belonging,
Of being fully present with yourself.
And the more you meet yourself with honesty.
Compassion and care.
The more deeply at home within yourself.
You become.
Take one final deep breath in.
And exhale slowly.
And whenever you feel ready.
You can very gently open your eyes.
I wish you all a very happy new moon in cancer.
And I want to thank you very much for meditating with me today.
As always it has been a real pleasure to guide you.
And I hope you will join me again on Insight Timer.
For another Lunar Cycle Meditation.
