Hello and welcome.
This meditation is intended to help you when making decisions and rather than looking outside of ourselves for what the right answer is,
We can turn inward and listen to our body.
So take a few moments and get as comfortable as you can be.
Maybe you want to shift around,
Getting any nervous energy out.
You can do this meditation seated,
Laying down,
Any place that'll allow you to be still,
To feel supported,
And to quiet your mind.
Start to take some slow deep breaths,
First breathing in through the nose and exhaling out of your mouth.
Allow the breath to move freely through the body and with each inhale and each exhale you settle a little bit more into the present moment,
Continuing to breathe,
Continuing to relax,
Turning towards the sensations in the body,
Turning towards how your breath feels,
And turning away from the thoughts,
The endless chatter that can go through our minds,
And continuing to breathe however feels comfortable for you.
Think about having your body come into this neutral state,
This place of complete stillness,
This place of comfort,
And when you are ready,
Focus all of your thoughts onto the decision at hand.
What is it that you are currently working through?
What is it you need to decide?
And ask yourself this question,
Repeating it once or twice in your mind.
Now imagine yourself saying yes,
Choosing the yes,
Answering this question you have in one specific way.
As you say yes,
What happens in your body?
Witness the sensations that come up as you say yes.
Did your breath change?
Did your body feel more expansive?
Or did you start to turn a little more inward,
Sagging towards yourself,
Tension building?
Did your body feel light?
Or did this heaviness start to occur?
As you answer yes to the question in your mind,
How does your body respond?
And take a deep cleansing breath,
Let everything that just occurred go,
Coming back to this neutral state in the body,
And start to ask yourself a question once more,
Repeating it in your mind.
Yet now the answer is no.
You're taking the other direction.
Notice what happens now in your body,
Paying attention to the belly,
The chest,
The arms,
Even down to the hands.
Are you gripping?
Or are you feeling open to this possibility of no?
Take your time,
Sit with the sensation of no.
Notice what's happening inside of your body.
Give yourself a moment to come back to witness what just happened.
Oftentimes our body knows the answer before our mind does.
The sensations that occur,
The feelings that come up.
The body can help us make decisions.
If we give ourselves these moments to pause,
To breathe,
And to be still,
If we ask ourselves these questions,
The body can hold the answers.
Give yourself both a time and permission to trust what your body is saying,
To listen to what is happening inside of you.
Take a nice deep breath in through your nose,
And gently exhale out of your mouth.
As you are ready,
You can open your eyes,
Coming back into your surroundings,
And thanking your body for this inner wisdom,
This inner guidance that it can hold,
And always remembering you can return to this knowledge at any point in your day and in your life.
