We all have younger parts of us - our wounded inner child - who are carrying hurts and pains from the past. This guided meditation will take you on a healing journey to release suffering that you're still holding from the past, and to experience a greater sense of self-love, inner peace, and inner freedom.

Hello,

This is Patrick Dominguez and welcome to this Healing the Inner Child meditation.

Find a comfortable seated or laying position where you will be undisturbed.

Allow your weight to sink into your furniture.

Close your eyes if it's comfortable to do so or allow your gaze to become soft.

And take a deep,

Relaxing breath in and out.

Feeling the tension leaving your body as your body sinks even deeper into relaxation.

Take a slow deep breath in and release what's no longer needed with the out breath.

And take another deep breath in and out.

And be aware that with each breath you take in,

You become more deeply relaxed and at ease.

Now imagine yourself as a child.

Perhaps at a time when you were feeling hurt or alone and needed comfort or love.

Then this younger self is right there in front of you and this is your inner child.

Throughout this meditation,

You'll stay in your adult self while noticing and engaging with your inner child.

As the adult self notice,

What does the child look like?

Take a moment to notice the child's face and expressions.

And now notice what are they feeling?

What emotions are there?

Whatever the child is feeling,

You can allow it to be okay that they were feeling that.

These are feelings trapped inside from long ago and you can allow them to be felt rather than buried inside.

That's part of the healing process.

You're welcome to adjust the amount of emotional energy you're feeling from the inner child at any time if it's too much by choosing the amount you're okay to receive at this moment.

What the inner child needs most is to be seen,

Heard and accepted by you and to be valued and loved by you.

Now feel compassion for this younger part of you,

Leaving aside any judgment for what they're feeling or doing right now.

Let your unconditional acceptance and love be present and be felt by the child.

As you gaze at the child,

You may realize you have not always accepted them or allowed yourself to experience them because of the pain that you feel when you remember the past.

So have compassion for yourself as well.

You may have never been taught to go inside to face and heal your pain,

But you're ready to do so now.

Without trying to change anything,

Notice what the child is feeling and let your inner child know,

Anything you feel is okay with me.

With your awareness on the feelings or sensations inside your body,

Notice if there are any thoughts or beliefs appearing.

It could be something like I'm not enough or I'm not loved or other thoughts.

These kinds of beliefs were an understandable reaction to challenging or painful moments of the past.

Allow yourself to realize that they do not reflect reality.

Now notice how old is this part of you that's having the feelings and thoughts.

Allow a number to pop up from your unconscious mind and just receive the first number you get.

Visualize your inner child as being this age.

And seeing this child,

Consider how would you respond to this child if they were a real life child of that age in your life right now,

Experiencing all these painful emotions and beliefs.

Allow yourself to feel the gentle kindness and affection you would naturally extend to a child who experienced these situations,

Feelings and beliefs.

Embrace the compassion arising within you,

Taking a slow breath in and out,

Allowing the compassion to effortlessly expand.

Feel appreciation for this child and all that it's gone through.

What does the child need from you right now?

What does this child want?

Is there something that the child needs to hear from you?

Can you give the child what they need now?

Now if it feels appropriate,

Imagine you're about to take the child in your arms and hold them.

Imagine their arms reaching up to you and you're reaching down to them with a welcoming smile.

Let your unconditional acceptance and love be present and be felt by the child.

Tell the child,

I'm here for you.

I care about you.

I'm sorry for what happened.

It wasn't your fault you didn't do anything wrong.

You were just doing what children do.

I love and accept you just as you are.

You are not alone.

Take a slow deep breath in and release what's no longer needed with the out breath.

One more time.

Take a slow deep breath in and release what's no longer needed with the out breath.

Now imagine there's a golden ball of warm light above your head.

This light is the unconditional love of your higher self.

Allow that warm soothing golden light to flow down through the top of your head.

Down through your head.

Down through your neck.

Your shoulders.

And allowing this golden light to flow down your arms all the way down to your fingertips.

And feel how good it feels as this warm soothing golden light energy is flowing down your chest and your stomach.

And now feel this golden light of unconditional love flowing down your legs all the way down to your feet.

All the way down to the soles of your feet.

Feeling this golden light throughout your entire body.

Feel the relaxation and the peace and harmony present.

Now imagine that the golden light is filling up your inner child,

If that feels good to do so.

Allow them to receive as much of this healing energy of unconditional love and peace as they would like,

At whatever pace feels good and right.

As you are feeling the warmth and goodness of this golden light,

Say to your inner child,

I love you.

I am always here for you.

I am here when you need me.

Stay here as long as it feels good.

When this feels complete,

Thank your child for being willing to spend this time with you and bring the child into the present moment with you.

As you hold and welcome your inner child into your life,

Be aware that you are both this child and your adult self.

As the child you are vulnerable,

Innocent,

Joyful,

Playful and creative.

And as the adult you are wise,

Strong,

Loving and capable.

You are all of this and you are whole and complete.

It's okay to enjoy life,

To play,

To smile,

To laugh,

To be happy,

To be content.

And the more you listen to this recording,

The more that ability increases and the more inner harmony you experience with your inner child.

And that feels so wonderful.

When you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and come back to the present moment.

Incredibly profound meditation for me. I didn't realize how much childhood trauma I need to heal. Tears were streaming down my face without my control. I will repeat this several times in hopes of doing some major inner healing and releasing of old negative energy that absolutely no longer serves me and my higher good.
