And in preparation for this short gentle journey together I'm going to invite you to close your eyes and in this short period of silence set a gentle intent to slow down and be here however your day has gone so far whatever you may have planned for later this is now let's slow down and be here now take care of yourself so I ask you now to just notice your breath in this moment we're not looking to change it in any way not worry if it's right or if it's wrong but just to be with your breath so to notice the in-breath as you take it in through the nostrils the gentle pause as it rests in your body and the experience of the exhale breathing out and letting go just a few seconds in silence now together as we experience the in-breath the pause the exhale you're doing great slowing down breath by breath now with your eyes closed let's leave our breath to do its own thing knowing it will be perfect for us and take your awareness to the space so where you are right now and again just experience the space have no about how this should feel have no expectations about how this should feel so you may notice a softness when you slow down a gentleness in this moment in this space all is well now allow that same awareness to drift gently down your body and rest in and around your feet so you're bringing your energy low now I invite you to feel the firm connection of the surface that's below your feet you may wish to move your feet slightly to really bed in and feel that connection here and now feeling your feet against the surface below with your eyes closed I now ask you to visualize that you're standing at the beginning of a path this is your simple path through life and only good can come when you allow yourself to step on to the path each step that we are about to take along the path together is a step closer to your true nature your true essence so let's now begin to move forward along the path and in this moment you may actually wish to move your feet as if walking to really sense that connection step-by-step along your simple path moving easily and freely you may wish to notice what's either side of the path as you take step after step taking care of yourself moving forward all is well now I ask you to pause and notice just a few paces in front of you along the path there is a veil the veil may be material it may be a gentle mist or a fog or something else whatever you see is perfect as this is your path your journey unique to you but before we step through and beyond the veil there's something that I would like you to do notice that you are carrying a bag the bag may be in one hand on one shoulder or on your back but sense the weight that you're carrying you may even begin to feel the strap maybe it's uncomfortable now that you've noticed and that's good in the bag is life your life in the bag are others opinions and expectations of how you should live your life and that weighs heavy on your journey in the bag are your own limiting beliefs that you've picked up along the way again adding weight to your bag in the bag may be limitations such as illness worries anxieties all adding weight and discomfort I would like you to visualize and feel now as you take the bag off and lay down on the path beside you sense the weight that has gone you can maybe move your shoulders your hands you see where we're about to go doesn't need the bag doesn't recognize the weight and the limitations and the views of others so let's leave the bag there and step forward again along your path step by step and now we approach and gently move through and beyond the veil all is well notice as you move forward with the veil now beyond you that you're on the same path keep stepping forward notice the silence here how gentle it is how calm serene it's as if you know this place you've been here before let's keep slowly moving forward along your path beyond the veil now let's pause again I ask you to look out at the amazing view the vista again this is unique to you your view your sanctuary notice just down to the left or right of the path there is a resting place this may be a blanket a chair a bench grass sand again it's yours and yours alone I invite you now to sit down and rest as you look out at the view feel the gentle light the warmth against your face your hair your clothes and let's take about a minute in silence as we enjoy the view and allow ourselves to rest you're truly taking time to take care of yourself here resting enjoying the view and the experience it is possible to step beyond the veil and ask questions for your well-being to seek support or advice so let me begin by asking a question on behalf of you and I if we are not what we have left back on the path in the bag if we are not other people's opinions of us if we are not our own limitations illnesses restrictions then who am I who am I who am I my experience here beyond the veil is that we are always heard you and I so when we ask a question an answer will come sometimes immediately and quite profound but often subtle maybe later on so let's ask that question again and leave about a minute in silence who am I who am I who am I know that you're always heard here this place gently sits and waits for you to visit to put down the bag and rest and so now I invite you should you wish to ask your own question out to the view well you may just want to speak your worries or anxieties to let them go you may notice that there is a place set aside for you and that somebody wishes to come and sit shoulder-to-shoulder whatever your intent again I'm going to leave a minute or so in silence for you to ask your question to speak your words or simply to rest further and so it is again I want you to know that you have been heard supported and answers support will come it's now time to leave your resting place just for now safe in the knowledge that you're able to return at any time just a few breaths and a few steps away so visualize now as you stand still looking out to the view you may wish to bow gently in appreciation of this place and how it only wishes to take care of you and now let's turn and walk back down the path together now feeling that gentle light and warmth on the back of your head your shoulders your clothes as a reminder to come back soon stepping back down the path that brought us here back through the veil moving forward step by step but let's pause just for a moment I'd like you to look down at the bag that you set aside earlier remember the bag carries the weight of life most of the weight you and I picked up for somebody else it was never ours to carry but we did I'd like you to leave the bag there where it belongs it's time to travel light now to take care of yourself so one last look at the bag as it lies down alongside the path and let's leave it behind as we carry on walking step by step taking care of yourself each step now bringing you closer and closer to the space that you are in in this moment and now become aware that you and I are back here in this moment in this space and when you're ready I invite you to open your eyes and come back to the space that you're in
